It's 34 now, we have about 1/4 to 1/2 ice on the trees and I have been up since 4AM listening to the branches come down all around the house.

We have silver maples trees, 60-100 years old, the absolute worst kind of tree to have next to a house.

I could use a lot of well wishes these next few hours.

Riptides, hope the falling limbs stay off your house. We just had a passing shower here, so the chance of rain just went up to 100% at the Larro Ranchero.

Drew, my sister is back home now, but she lived in Colorado Springs for 30 years. Her daughter and grandkids are in Denver. It's been a long time since I have been out there, but the Rockies are always nice. A word of caution, my parents' RV got vapor lock on the Continental Divide and they had to be towed. But I'm sure a seasoned traveler like you will know how to prevent that.

I ran outside to get firewood, the tarp by the house did not work. It is horrible. It is so sad, I counted 5 big branches (just branches off the trees) down already, and one just missed a side building by inches. I have another mess over by the driveway, that needs clearing too. But the branches are not done yet coming down. Too dangerous to be outside.

The branches on these maples are about the size of a tree, I'd use for firewood. Anywhere from 12 to 18 inches.

I just saw on the weather report, I could get up to five inches of snow by Tuesday.

The weather is odd, but we all know that.

I remember a couple of huge ice storms in northeastern NC when I was a kid, watched the pines as the limbs snapped off one by one. I certainly wish you the best and safe day.

On second thought, David/Sodamo, better get an outside 30 amp outlet. I'm a pretty good boater, might find a neglected tramp steamer, and head West. Where can I beach it and drive off?

Hmmmm, how about Hilo Bay? Ought to draw a crowd and I know I'd sure love to see it and post the arrival pics here on TBN. OK, I can wire up a 30 amp hookup, but you better be using those energy efficient lights etc and NO hair dryer

My $199 (on sale, coupon & discount) Harbor freight electric wood splitter should be here today and just in time. I have a lot of 10-12" logs that won't fit in the wood burning stove and I'm running out of smaller cut wood.

Don, it was on a truck stuck on I-35 north of Denton where it turned into a truck stop parking lot. It could be delayed a couple of days. This storm has turned logistics into a log-jam. Our mail lady delivered a package on Saturday morning, but said the USPS trucks are not making deliveries in this area to local post offices. She only had the single package because it was delivered the day before the storm. This storm has seriously crippled N. TX and OK. Boy! I can't wait until winter actually arrives.

She's posted in the Texas Fall/Winter thread. Maybe she is going to "rain dance refresher training." I think she's trying to figure out why her rain dance turned into the freezing rain-sleet-snow dance.

The Pats had that one donated due to non existent pass interference call, they made a great comeback, but their chances are greatly diminished without the phantom flag. They did lose Gronkowski for the year though and they haven't played well without him. I don't think it much matters with the other teams in both conferences that are playing better.

Still snowing out there, took Joanis to the radiation doc to set up her theraphy. Weds, we go to the chemo doc for the schedule on that. Went to the renal place and shop to shovel snow, check on things. Lunch at home, now I need a nap!!
