The trip through North Dakota may involve a lot of empty.:)

Maybe Bobcat offers a plant tour in Fargo? Never been to ND myself....one of the 4 states I have
not visited.

Ron, thanks, luckily I know better, would be like driving it through the salt water at the beach.
I owned an old boat with a lot of aluminum trim in South Florida, where the water is seriously salty.
Salt is rust's best friend, and it likes to eat from inside out...
I'll keep a dash of salt on my green beans and off the motorhome.

Besides, what a great way to utterly wreck your warranty. Somewhere in that policy is a racing exclusion, timed event, blah blah. Like I really want to redline that engine? The one that is going to get me home?...
So I think we have that page covered...now if I were towing a Corvette, something that can go fast safely, well....
six trips to the carwash later one would still need a powerwasher, but what a hoot.

That is a great museum. Lots to do around Tahoe and Truckee too, which are an hour or so away.

I visited Harrah's in 1969 or 70. It was really nice, an awesome collection. I see from the web site that the layout has changed considerably.

If you decide to do the Mt Rushmore area attractions, (which are fantastic by the way!) your trip across South Dakota would not be complete without a stop at the Corn Palace and off course Wall Drug. :)

I am smiling because they have more "billboard" advertising than any two places I know....from HUNDREDS of miles away. Heck, I was in St Lake City and saw a billboard sign for Wall Drug. Now to be honest - the Corn Palace was a bit of a let down...but Wall Drug is like an oasis in the desert :). Laughing again

Sounds like a fun trip!

If you have not discovered it yet, an EXCELLENT RV site is- RV
The site is a wealth of information and if you need real time info on the road (from break down to restaurants etc ) the members will answer the hard questions fast!
The site members are across the US and out of the country, many live in their RV, some Work/Camp.

Something I just signed up for is Wireless Home Phone through Verizon.
It is wireless, costs $20. a month with unlimited local and long distance calls AND if you can plug it in and there is wireless service you can have your home phone anywhere in the country!!
Set Your Location
I have no connection to them, I just found out about this device 2 weeks ago and signed up for it.
The only draw back that I can see is it doesn't work with FAX machines or medical devices but if you are on the road that shouldn't matter.

Ah yes, I've been to the Corn Palace twice. Don't forget Crazy Horse.

I'm taking notes like crazy guys.
the route that is shown is only what Goggle Maps picked as the best way to connect the dots I gave them.
I need to add more dots and see what happens. Ultimately I will drive according to the oversight of the RV gps, so
I avoid height/weight issues. Mt. Rushmore? You bet.
anything that looks like South of The Border signs including the inevitable fireworks pitch, well no.
Though if I did see some restored Burma Shave signs, I'd sure take pics of them.

didn't Route 66 have some sequential signs also? But I'd need a 64 Corvette convertible in marina blue for that road...

do you know how when you zoom in on a high res picture, you see things that you never saw in the first place, certain details come out. I'm wondering if I capture anything interesting on the HD video camera. 32gig card, I think about two days worth. It may be worthless but I'm going to dump the video to laptop for a few days to see if there's anything entertaining in there. I mean driving up to Mt. Rushmore, that should be a Kodak moment. Never used a go pro type device, so I'll have some experimenting to do.
