First off I think the show is stupid. They are no more entertaining than watching any other bunch of good ol boys in their natural habitat.

But...

The one guy said things that a Southern White Conservative Christian would say and no one at the network saw that coming? Really?

Amen Scooter..what happened to someone can make a statement, one considers it if they wish and comment if they wish? And life goes on. Now one must listen and accept or be fired or other. I hear smart things said, stupid things, hateful things and I decide whether I associate or not, but I do not force anyone to associate with me or my thoughts.

I'm not a fan of the show...and I'm not a religious man.
That said, I abhor A&E network's bigotry against Phil Robertson for speaking his piece...that's a 1st Amendment right.
GLAAD's comments expose their bigotry as well.

Me too. I hope they do go to another network. This country is going to He!! When a good Christian family is treated this way for believing in their values. If they were running around smoking dope that would prolly be fine.

I cracked up when Si got the poodle for dove hunting. And I'll be durned if that dog didn't retrieve that dove. And yes, as Phil noted, he had a nice set of "cods." :laughing: Just can't help but laugh at those boys.

One thing I didn't like about the first episode. They were treating the opening day of duck season like a joke. As a duck hunter myself, I have to say that opening day is NOT a joke. It only comes once ever 365 days and should be treated with reverence. :thumbsup: Those boys got rich on being hardcore duck hunters. To see them make a joke about opening day kinda makes me sad.

A poodle was originally bread to be a hunting dog! I couldn't believe it when I first read that! But its true!

Just proves freedom of expression is only ok to some when it aligns with there own views, I would bet money the execs over at a&e are members of the glad community.
I have only watched a couple episodes but i know this for a fact. When my cousin who is in Afgan right now (1/2 way thru his year long deployment) and a couple of his army buddies went over to visit at duck commander they were treated like royalty and given a tour by one of the Robertsons family members.
