Of course you do know you could swap in the 'bota for a Kioti DK series with the side by side pedals if that would help.. it is still orange!
It took me about a day to transition from the Kubota pedal to the 2 side by sides, but I get along equally well with either now.
The Kioti is a good machine too.

I thought about doing this but I really LOVE this tractor. It has heat and air and only 230 hours.Owned it for the last 8 trouble-free years.Bulletproof!

Thanks TripleR again for those links.lThe one with the LH gas pedal has given me the idea that maybe this type of linkage can be used on my Kubota.I might be able to get a couple of the pivots and some sort of pedal with a rod/shaft that will lift up on the treadle when pressed.

I'm sure you can find a way if you can just come up with some basic linkage, may even go with right foot for forward and one for reverse or a cam system on the left.

My wife's cousin has been in a wheel chair for over forty years and drives his van with all hand controls.

Just a quick thought working from the toe lift idea, could you mount another pedal just to the side of the forward control and set it up like a teeter-totter. Pressing down on it would raise the forward pedal, the same way your toe would. It might be pretty simple to construct and would leave the existing mechanism unaltered.

Good luck.

Thanks Mathias. Simple is definitely better.I like that idea.I will have a closer look tomorrow in order to see what configuration will work best.I'll keep you posted.

Hi Birdman, fellow UA member!!! I worked on a co-gen in Londonderry,NH with some fitters/welders from Oswego.Great guys to work with.If I remember correctly, there are a couple of nukes in the Oswego area that keep the membership busy. Our nuke here in VT will be de-commissioned soon. Our Governor thinks that we're better off with "alternate" sources of power ie: Hydro Quebec.

There are three nukes in Oswego and a large steam plant downtown.I worked in Oswego itself for about ten years off and on.I live 120 miles north.I am out of the old 117 local and live in the northern part of it's old jurisdiction.Because of this I didn't stay any longer than I had to in Oswego. In my other life I was a certified nuke welder.I have a few friends still making the rounds of the nuke shut-downs.
I don't miss it and have been retired for five years.

Congrats on your retirement.I'm only 50 so I have a way to go.I have fond memories of working shutdowns "on the road".Vermont welders and fitters were always well received and treated with utmost respect.Better than our own Local sadly enough.
