Arlen, Which model is the one that that tank starts on fire?

Several of the 5000E series have had that problem...pretty well documented here starting with a 5055E. Hard to tell if any of these are duplicates.

A couple of 5075Es:

A 5065E here:

Another 5065E:

Hopefully they've gotten it sorted out on the new models, but it would still concern me. I'd rather pay more for an M made in Georgia, than an E made in India.

There are certainly some circular disscussions going on in those threads with the same tractor showing up in two or three places. People don't always carry the same user name from thread to thread so I can't be sure but I think there are seven different tractors being talked about by their owners with another three to six by hearsay referance. Between them they have gone through a dozen fuel tanks.
Owners I see include Cuov, Sgecko, 5075E, wbuoni , Coosa and one other with a 5065E.
JD has a problem here and I'm surpised they haven't stepped up with answers to protect their reputation.

This robbing horsepower stuff I believe is overrated. I have turned the AC on and off (compressor switch) while running and I can't feel much difference at all.

D.
I agree, I cant see any difference in tractor performance with AC on vs off. Rarely do tractors use all of their HP during any operation so it wont affect the performance, just a little more fuel which I don't mind as long as I stay cool on those hot days and warm in winter.

I also cant believe a hydraulic actuated shifter would rob any power at all compared to any other tractor as the pump would be pumping all the time anyway and it only requires pressure to activate the shifter. I think this is all over rated by a lot (another mythbuster topic maybe). I think maybe someone was thinking it was an HST transmission but even those only loose 5-7 HP in the transmission which is a long way from 15 HP.

Just like so many things talked about here and every where else for that matter. 99.99% of the time things are blown out of proportion. The one that gets me the most is "if I do this or that, isn't it going to wear my tractor out faster?" Some say oh yes it will, you shouldn't do this or that unless you really need it . Does it wear faster, most definitely. Does it wear fast enough that it will affect you or your kids, NO, Not when you are the typical 50-200 hour a year user. So much of the things that people worry about in general are things that simply do not need to be worried about at all. Not for the average person.

But then maybe none of us are average? :confused3:

Just my :2cents:

We used to have 4720cab. So, judging from my own experience - improved serviceability with no sides having to be removed ( for safety and comfort ).
