Miller Bobcat Vs Hobart Champion Elite

Follow up....I wound up buying a Hobart Champion 11K, and managed to get the older version that does both DC and AC (newest version lost AC for whatever reason). Since it wasn't the current model, I managed o get them to knock $100 off the price :) I have yet to burn a stick with it, and actually needed to post a follow up on stick cables....buy them, or make them? Hobart has 20' set that are #4 wire for $100, which seems too small, and a 50' set which is #2 for $200. I kind of think I'd like a 25' #2 setup, but would have to make them, as best I can tell. Thoughts?
I make my own, and If I was you if go with #2 cable, it will be enough for your machine. When you make them with quick connects so in the future if needed you can connect lengths together for additional length. You can also use a smaller gauge "whip" with your electrode holder

I'd use #1 cable. #2 for a 10' whip would be good. You don't need a 500' roll of cable and it will handle higher amps if you have some heavier welding to do. Most welding trucks on the road use 2/0 cable so they can handle anything.

Thanks....I thought #4 sounded way too light, and you guys confirmed it.

Here's a chart of the different cable gauges with regards to amperage and length
