Bad guess.i'd say 2 of your trucks have bad tires / brakes if the ld stops faster then the HD.. especially the one with 2 more pieces of rubber on the ground....![]()
The 1500 crew cab chevy stops the combo quicker as its a lighter mass. With a 3950 FAWR and a 4000 RAWR and two 5.2k trailer brakes = 18250 lb of braking capacity for those panic stops.
My 2500 Dodge/Cummins stops the same load in a shorter distance than the crew cab DRW truck with the same trailer. Once again its all about mass weight.
Like one poster says the trucks brakes stop the loaded truck and the trailers brakes stops the trailer with its load. Both are within there load limits.
Brakes on all LDT today are vastly improved over the older model trucks.
