I have been shopping for a decent trailer for a while to transport what tractors I have between my dad and I (two are mine the other 3 my dad and I share for a total of 5). Equipment trailers are not cheap. Even if these are okay quality and not top notch that's quite a deal! I need the trailer anyway. I'm quite firmilar with 3 point implements so I would be happy to have more of those! They are just handy 24/7 to have for outdoors work! Box blade, mowers, rakes, we have a 5 foot snowblower, you name it they are handy and I am happy to change them out to get the job done easier.

Yes the tractor will need to be transported to work on projects elsewhere and the trailer could be used to haul other tractors, lumber, and even pickup trucks etc! The lowest cost equipment trailers are maybe 4 to 6,000$ so the package deal is perfect for a guy like me
The trailers with these package deals are like the one foreman posted, not heavy car haulers but plenty fine for tractors, have brakes to. I got a 16' and use it for general hauling, but I never need to haul a tractor anywhere.

Just tried to talk to a close friend at work about my decision because he knows I will be buying a house. He said that will be the largest waist of money I ever spent. I tried to tell him over and over how I run any of my tractors in Michigan daily. Any one of 5 or more. The only way a tractor sits at my parents house not bring used is if I'm not there:p they run everyday nearly vompleteing task to save my knees. I never would move firewood by hand, or mow long hours with a push behind. Always next thing I knew my friends car wouldnt start or his truck broke down on the way to the scrap yard. I would haul the trailer of scrap to the scrap yard and pull the car home.
I would borrow my neighbors 4510 john Deere extensively after he bought it. He used it every day to make money moving trees and anything you can think of period. Its the largest multi tool ever. Ball joint snapped on my pickup and I saved my self from a 200$ tow bill by chaining the truck to the box blade on the tractor to get it home!!! One year later his van the lug nut studs broke and he waited three hours for a tow truck. We used his compact tractor to get his van home not a problem. I'm so so so confused. What's wrong with people. I have used tractors for hours on end to save money. He says its cheaper to rent a bobcat or backhoe for 250$ per day instead of own a tractor for 2 or 300$ per month!!! I don't get it. This guy has 2000 $ into a western plow on his 8000$ 2005 ford pickup. What's the difference on a 20,000$ tractor? I like working a tractor more than an everyday pickup. I won't break my pickup pulling down trees threw the yard but that's me..... he says I will use it once a month so I'm throwing money away. Judging how I have used 2 WD tractors with no front loader everyday of my life since I was 8 years old I would save money with it no matter the task. I always always have got by with my pre 1960s tractors. I don't like using antiques to do my work. I dony want to buy a pickup plow truck that will sit all year when a tractor would fit me better. I don't want to have to rent a back hoe and have to return it for a small task.
I don't want to buy a 10,000$ UTv or ATV
New pickups cost way to much and I don't want one period
I don't want a boat or anything like that snowmobile what ever
I don't go out to dinner a lot I was raised on taking care of my self and the value of a dollar.

To me a tractor is a tool am I wrong? I want to use my little 25 horse power but its limited on snow plowing and I don't want to break it doing stupid task that's too much for it ...

Some people like tractors (most of us here) and some people don't. I guess he is one of the "dont's" Most likely because he has never had one. When I moved to Branson, I sold a nice tractor I had because I convinced myself I didn't need it. There is not enough mowing here that a small rider can't take care of pretty quickly. Also I was really worried about operation on all of these hills. That was something I hadn't ever done before. I lasted 6 months before I bought another new tractor. And I am on my third one since I have lived here. I had forgotten about all the other things like some of the things you mentioned besides mowing that I used a tractor for. I still do some brush hogging around the place, but the primary things I do with a tractor involve the FEL. I would really really miss mine if I no longer had it. Each to their own.

Yeah. I find it confusing that he has a generator that doesn't run well and a lawnmower he hardly uses when he could have a tractor that does both!! Tractors using their PTO for a generator is perfect!
*it's going to start because your using your tractor constantly
* it will have higher wattage for a power out to power your house
* low fuel cost
* maintain one engine and use the machine for 25 other task throughout the year. I just don't understand it because he has an rv trailer that sits and has a 2000$ plow that sits a lot!

I don't know guys its just how I grew up. But my dad always bought show tractors and broke them. Ie : he uses the cockshutt to snow plow with and pushes hay bales out of the way ... way too hard on a rare tractor. It disturbs me.

My Massey won't last forever and parts are hard to find. It is rare. I know what its limits are and I have a life time of experience with equipment.

Plus I didn't buy a 20,000$ tool box like others at work or 400$ screw driver sets at snap on and 100$ a piece wrenches. My box is a two bay matco I bought for a grand total of 3000$ used and I pay 25$ a week for it. It will be paid off in one year (2 year length of time loan). My screw drivers and wrenches are from harbor freight and Lowes. I don't see why I can't stick my money on something practical for me in the 10 to 30,XXX $ amount.
And when I needed a truck I bought mine with less than 120,000 miles for 2000$. I take care of it and maintenance it myself. It has made me a lot of money in 8 months between moving and daily towing of different tools to my part time jobs etc

But I'm thinking heavily now how many people told me not to go to college to be a heavy truck mechanic and how many told Me not to buy a house. I'm paying 1200$ for an apartment and have to pay for the things I need and it cost me extra. My friends my age own their house at 600$ per month plus other expense. Can't hardly walk my two dogs now. Its hard to living in apartment. That's something that should be simple

Its very nice to hear a good story like that! With college loans pay checks do truely get tougher a lot of times.

Fourteen years ago, after tweny plus years of running internationals, we purchased our first kubota tractor. We have put thousands of hours on our kubotas! I continue to be impressed by the reliability and durability of these fine machines, in fact i just purchased our 4th kubota 2 weeks ago! (B2320 hsd). You can easily find a cheaper compact tractor, but you will never find a better one!!!
