Travelover. I have often questioned that about heat pumps. Compressors, modules, service calls. Is there really a saving in the long run, never mind the feeling of being raped! I was at a customers observing and talking to a heating guy trying to repair a fancy gas furnace. $1200.00 DC fan motor, $1800.00 main board, plus other blower motors and stuff. INSANE! Oh, months later and it's still not fixed properly!
Yes, I wonder if late model used tractors will see a price jump. But so you get top dollar for your used stuff, now what do you buy?
My 08 GMC Duramax. Can't say it's been a bad truck, but all that computerized sheit drives me nuts. Driving along and all thes messages, Low back tire pressure, back up sensors inoperative, trailer brakes system malfunction. Just minor stuff, Dirt, cold, but I believe I need a $135.00 pressure sensor on my master cylinder to fix the trailer brake system. In the meantime, the truck tranny won't allow me to switch into trailer towing mode!
Two days ago, I almost slid down into an icy ravine, because for all intents and purposes, with the ABS, on an icy road, I don't have any brakes at all!
I can picture the day, when tractors will have the big computer screen like so many cars and trucks. And the machine is run by WINDOWS! Maybe it's best if we just used virtual tractors! Makes me think of thoes people that run these make believe "farms" on their smart phones. Some even pay someone to manage their make believe farms! So maybe a make believe tractor isn't so far fetched. I wonder what make believe service is going to cost?
For what it's worth. My Dad is still using a GE fridge he bought in the early 60s. In fact it had to be converted from 25 to 60 cycles! The man bought one television set in his life in 1964. Now he uses one that was garbage picked!
