Exactly right...when the home invaders tightened their hoodies and pushed toward him is when he realized what was happening and he stepped back drew his pistol and fired....etc. - the anti gun folks will lie...

An unloaded gun is useless. I keep mine loaded but kept in a handgun safe with a 4 digit code. I can access it in 5 seconds but is safe from kids. I don't worry about my kids. They are brought up to respect guns and know how to safely use them. It's the friends and neighbor kids that you have to be careful of.

Back in grade school several of the parents were police officers...

One of the mom's drove carpool and there was always a loaded revolver in the glove box... she pointed it out anytime someone new was in the car and told us it was off limits...

It was not any big deal... maybe kids listened better because we knew there were consequences?

Other homes had glass gun cases and some dads had gun racks in their pickups...

I don't think I would shoot and kill someone in the front yard who had never entered my home, even if they were carrying a ball bat without the expectation of answering a lot of questions. Someone that afraid should never answer the door.

ANYONE killing someone, justified or not is going to have to answer a bunch of questions

If you do not want guns in your home don't have them, if you do not like guns do not use them but please do not inflict your views on those of us who do by saying it is offensive to you so something we say or have in our sig must be removed. That is not right and just wrong everyone is entitled to an opinion just do not force it on those who disagree by saying it is not politically correct or it offends you. Just like a TV show you do not like cut it off, you do not offend anyone that way

Not everyone thinks the same as you, and many of them don't mind saying so. That's usually thought of as a good thing in a democracy. We don't all have to agree. I am not hurting you by saying that you are wrong. If you find that offensive, maybe you should toughen up a bit.

In that spirit: having loaded guns in a home is unwise.

My point is if you are so proud you own guns, why not put the sign in your yard. Then the next time you leave home and come back, the bait will be gone.

I live in rural east TN.......posting a sign would simply be information overload. EVERYBODY out here has guns in their home.

Never met someone who didn't own a gun who thought I should join them.

I've never met Chuckie Shummer, or Diane Feinstein, but they certainly head up the crowd.

Really now. I didn't know I was anti gun and was lying until you told me. My response to shooting someone in the front yard was to this post by Dodge Man.

"Third. The myth that the person has to be in your house before you shoot them. You just have to be in fear for you life. In the original story, the guy probably thought somebody was broke down, who knows. Who says you can't open your door at night."

Now one would have to be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound to stretch that into someone being anti gun.
