Pallets in fields

Isn't the plural of mouse meeses in the northern US and miste (with a long i) in the southern part?

Okay, I have given this quandary some more think time. I am certain that the farmer applied for and received a government grant to study the effects of placing pallets in the shape of an inverted "V" in his farm fields. During the crop season, they just get in the way, so they are removed, but once the crops are harvested, they are put back on. It is a multi-year grant so they will most likely appear several years. Once the farmer has the data collected, he can propose a computer model for the effects of pallet placing and get additional funding or subsidies to further study it (and change the data to match his computer model).

The "squirrelly" alarmists are anthropocentric extremists. They have used propaganda and scare tactics to convince the general populace that squirrels are somehow enemies to mankind.

1. There is no evidence of an extraterrestrial presence in the squirrel community.
2. The extremists are speciesists, referring to squirrels as "tree rats."
3. Squirrels have been slaughtered and consumed in the millions by carnivorous humans over the ages. Indeed, this squirrelicide continues to this day. Googling "squirrel recipes" returns 3,400,000 results. Are squirrels not sentient beings? This reign of terror must end.
4. Although we have adopted technology (e.g., sophisticated surveillance equipment, cell phones, laser swords, assault rifles,etc.), we have done so for peaceful purposes, including self-defense.
