adding a snow plow to a tractor

The guy at Otter Creek Campground in Danby always has a number of things beside the road to sell. Usually this includes fork lift forks. I don't pay enough attention, something about his out of state brother in law being a fork lift mechanic. As I recall they are bare forks, you would need fabricated quick mount. I find mine very handy they see constant use. Mine are attached over the bucket, drive up, lift and drive away. The down side is I need a spotter as I can't see the tip of the forks.

Years ago I converted a set of Farmall Cub "Landside" plows to make a middlebuster, I think I still have it.
Thanks for the heads up.

I can see the VTC water tower

not to derail the thread, but while reading through the thread my eyes keyed in on vtc. i just had to jump in and recognize my alma mater. i'm still amazed at the weather there - i could go to bed with a foot of snow and wake up to bare ground. somewhere close by there must have been a valley with the snow blew in 50 feet deep.

On the East side of the green Mountains. I live on the west side. Right now I see grass peaking through snow.
7 miles away on the other side of the mountain a car only shows a bump in the snow.

...aYup and my second year I had to commute from my hill down through that valley to get to Snorten Nortens class on time.

Just a heads up… I bought a truck plow converted to a skid steer setup and it's MUCH better than rear blade/loader/etc. The cylinders are comparatively small though, had to purchase a 1/32" restricted flow orifice fitting to slow it down. I drilled it out to 1/16" before I installed it, and it's fine but I could have left it at 1/32… it still moves plenty fast.

I haven't found any local hydraulic distributor which has these fittings available other than Fleet Farm. If anyone needs one, I can send them one for my cost… I think it was like $4.xx for 1/2 or 3/8 NPT. Before finding them my plan was an expensive flow valve which would have been a complete waste of money.

We had a Snorten Norten. Employed by the US forest Service. Not well liked by conservatives, considered a liability by the liberals, from any perspective he was an *****.
