Last time this came up I got trolled by the true believers who couldn't see the difference, I hope it doesn't happen again...

If you got trolled it may have been because you seem to lack a basic understanding of economics. Amazon doesn't provide free shipping, or anything else for free; they raise the price on EVERYTHING they sell to cover those costs. Everybody who ships products has to cover those costs one way or another. At least EA will allow you to pick it up locally and save the cost of shipping (some companies won't), and it's not like they're making a secret of that fact. They list their shipping policy, and if someone finds it objectionable, they can go elsewhere.
What you're really saying, without saying it directly, is that you take issue with the way EA words, or describes, their policy. Seems kind of odd unless you're upset with them for some other reason. It's clear that it bothers you enough that you've made this a bone to pick at least a couple of times. The nice thing is, you don't have to do business with them....perfect solution, right?
In similar fashion, I think it was pretty inappropriate for Sweet's to jump on an EA thread and list their own shipping policy, in an obvious competitive one-upmanship attempt, but I'm not going to try causing a big stir over it...I can just take my business elsewhere.
Like their policy or not, EA isn't being tricky, or hiding anything....it's all out there for the world to see. Oh, and I'm not a "true believer", I don't even have my first EA implement yet, but they were certainly helpful, patient, and professional when I ordered from them recently. Based upon that, and the professionalism they've always displayed here, I have another order planned, so they must be doing something right.
