They were primarily used for "new ground" plowing where you would find lots of roots and rocks. There is not much of that going on nowadays. We usually stock a few good used 2 disc plows and we are a dealer for the new Tufline models. Ken Sweet
Thanks Ken, I am contemplating what to get or if I will even get implements to prepare small garden and food plots. So far I have thought about a plow or disc plow, disc harrow, garden bedder, rototiller, but I don't really want to spend a lot as this would be just for fun and I have little experience in gardening.

Ken's succinct posts rate a lot of respect among T-B-N contributors.
For a garden plus small food plots you can get by with just a rototiller. (Had I a rototiller I would want to store it under roof.) If you have HST transmission on your Kubota B2920 you have the ideal transmission for a rototiller. Max torque at low speed so you can pull a rototiller slowly without stalling.
That is, unless you are around Murfreesboro, where the "soil" is rocks.
It is most difficult to find a Disc Harrow with at least forty pounds bearing on each pan, which is needed to be effective, which you can pull with a small tire B2920.

Not sure how to describe the soil but it is East Tennessee . I guess it's clay. The largest the garden could be would be an acre or slightly more but I would probably want to try some smaller areas first as I really don't have much experience. I guess a rototiller would be nice to have.

Back when our old family farm was mostly new ground Dad had a 2 dish PAN PLOW that he pulled with an 8N. So I suppose a 19 HP tractor would do fairly well with it. Our soil was a heavy mix of clay and loam which was pretty hard pulling on a disk. You should be able to pull a 2 pan plow in East Tennessee with a 20 HP 2 or 4 WD tractor if the tires are loaded.

Another option would be to rent/buy/borrow a small chisel plow to break up the soil, and then run a tiller over it.
Breaking it up with a chisel will help a lot. We used to chisel our wheat fields to break them up and then run an offset disc to turn the stubble under to decompose.
