Good morning!!!!

Toppop, I had to chuckle and thought of you when I saw this on my high school web page.
I guess the football team or program must be doing something right; here's a kid getting into Towson on a football scholarship.
Small potatoes but the potatoes are growing!

I think the cost per pupil is about 13K here, high but not too crazy. This public HS is still more like a giant private school due to its small size.
The area is blessed with three seriously good public high schools, and taxes to match. My home town school and the one closest to me now are both producing their
share of future "affluenza" adults, should high school kids be driving Land Rovers to school? They are all over the place...you'd think they were all going on a surprise safari and I guarantee not one of them has ever got more than a smattering of "mud on your tires"... All posing stuff. Or maybe Mom's old car when she got her new one. Well at least if they crack it up it will protect them well. And that always has value. my neighbor across the street is pretty strict with his kids, very protective Mom, and when eldest son went off to college he was driving an old but nicely preserved 850 Volvo sedan. A good choice.

I also see a lot of kids here driving Tahoes and Suburbans. Maybe these new football players!
Nothing better than seeing Green Bay play in the snow, and I don't even follow football...

That's cool! When I went to school, I usually drove a seat on the bus!:D
Some had an old clunker like my '61 Corvair and some of the kids drove mom's car sometimes. We did not have a parking lot that looked the Ritz on a Friday night.

My high school driver was a '61 Meteor (Mercury) four-door with three on the tree. The only decent set of wheels in the student lot was a brand new '68 Galaxie 500 owned by the kid whose dad was the top seller at the local Ford dealer. Must have been nice to get a set of wheels like that...

We live about seven miles out of Altha, and I road my trail bike to school from the age of 14 to 16. Then I got to drive the old '64 Fairlane. But Mamma told me I had to let my cousin ride to school with me if I drove the car. So for two years I rode a bicycle the 7 miles each way. {I didn't like my cousin then. Still not real fond of her 35 years later}

You still did better than me. I biked till 17, then a Yamaha dirt bike . I didn't get a car till I saved enough money and that was the sumer after I graduated and it was a Pinto (without air).

Didn't get my license until senior year, then I was allowed to drive the 1956, Chevy, 9 pax station wagon.
Prior to that I was fortunate enough to hitch a ride in back of a neighbor's p/u. He was an older classmate (but same class) and made enough money to buy a new Chevy pu Sophomore year hauling garbage. His gf lived about half mile done the road and as long as I was there I could ride in the back. Only the gf got to ride in the cab. Otherwise it was walk or bike as there was no bus service for HS.

25 degrees now and a high of 28 expected.
It's snowing now...the prediction is for 1-3 more inches. It's going to be a fun drive to work.

Boy, the drive home yesterday wasn't too bad until I got off I-89 at Randolph. Secondary road Rt 12 was quite slick...but the worst is when I turned into my street. Maybe I got complacent or cocky...but about halfway down my road (a cul-de-sac about 1/8th mile long) and no more then 150 yards from my house, I slid into a snowbank. Tried pulling it out with the Deere to no avail (the snow is slick and I did not have my chains on...also, the road hadn't been plowed and there was a good 5-6 inches on it). Anyway, cleaned the area behind the truck and used a shovel to dig out as much as I could behind the front a rear tires. With some rocking back and forth, the F-150 got itself out.
My neighbor came out to help...very nice of him but wasn't necessary. He did clean up my drive with his big (42") walk-behind snow blower. Reckon he'll clean up the drives again today (he does live for this) and I'll do the last cleanup on Saturday.

38 this morning wind really working the wind chimes, high of 42 later then clipper snow this evening thru tomorrow. Happy sweetie day to all those who have them. Still got more and more snow to clean too deep for blade fel only way and that's slow for me. Intestional flu again left for one day now back and another no sleep night. At first light will try to go back to work on the snow if I can. Gotta get out today payroll checks to deliver

33F and bright moonlight a little while ago reflecting off the snow. Buppies, with your 2 feet of snow, can't imagine the roads are all cleared, so be wary going out.

Probably in my driveway at the road still 1500 ft till I get there. Road has been scraped but all snow covered

Got stuck in the driveway yesterday so was forced to start the tractor to pull the truck out. While I was at it I figured I should finally plow the 300 ft driveway after suffering through it for around a month. That act of defeat on my part pretty much guarantees a big warmup soon that will have melted the snow anyway. That's how my luck goes so get ready for warmer weather.

I got up, looked out the window, saw another mound of snow, and went back to bed. Just could not deal with it.
Now the coffee is brewing and I can no longer hide...
probably heavy and wet; am amazed our power is still going. Looks like another four or so inches out there; that makes about 14 for
us total. that's a lot for around here...

Well, headed out at 0530 and turned around about a mile or so up Rt 12...
I guess the snow plow trucks are on the interstates....they sure aren't on the secondary roads. Too slick and too risky for a 50 mile run into worse conditions.
I'll try later...

Cleared a path for the dog to do her morning toilet...cup of coffee and I'm going to lay back down for a couple hours.

Since it is Valentine's Day...

VERY BRAVE MAN JOKES

1 -How do you turn a fox into an elephant?
Marry It!

2 -What is the difference between a battery and a woman?
A battery has a positive side.

3 - Why is the space between a woman's breasts and her hips called a waist?
Because you could easily fit another pair of **** in there..

4 - How do you make 5 pounds of fat look good?
Put a nipple on it.

5 - Why do women fake orgasms?
Because they think men care.

6 - What do you say to a woman with 2 black eyes?
Nothing, she's been told twice already.

7 - If your wife keeps coming out of the kitchen to nag at you, what have you done wrong?
Made her chain too long.

8 - Why is a laundromat a really bad place to pick up a woman?

Because a woman who can't even afford a washing machine will probably never be able to support you.

9 - Why do women have smaller feet than men?
It's one of those 'evolutionary things' that allows them to stand closer to the kitchen sink.

10 - Why do men pass gas more than women?
Because women can't shut up long enough to build up the required pressure.

11 - If your dog is barking at the back door and your wife is yelling at the front door, who do you let in first?
The dog, of course. He'll shut up once you let him in.

12 - Scientists have discovered a food that diminishes a woman's *** drive by 90%...
It's called a Wedding Cake.

13 - Why do men die before their wives?
Because they want to.

Send this to a few good men who need a laugh and to the select few women who don't own a gun.

28*F with some fine snow in the air. Too dark to tell yet what is really going on, looks sort of foggy. Weather station in the area reported 11+ inches. That looks about right. I don't think it snowed much after 11pm.

I'll get the tractor out later this morning. The temps are supposed to hang around 30*F most of the day and maybe another inch of snow.

Be careful digging out and on the roads.
