Good morning!!!!

Heat wave alert...heat wave alert...hit 29 degrees here today.... Isn't it simply amazing how far this thread has gone off the "Good Morning" original topic?

Fixing the GF and I T-bone steaks on the grill tonight, I bet the restaurants will be packed...V-Day on a Friday. Being a cheapskate SOB, you probably know we are not going anyplace to dine out tonight. Maybe if the restaurants would accept my AARP discount....

I started a tread in Trailers and Transportation about the reluctance of the local tire store to install a new valve stem on my 14 year old spare tire, makes me laugh at the controversy it has created. You guys here may not like me much, but I sure make you think about certain things. I don't intentionally try to create dissent, but read the second line of my signature...I always look forward to knowing how others feel about a certain issue. Thanks to all, you are a wonderful bunch of guys.

Heat wave indeed 79˚.

I saw your tire thread and as you know when The McDonlad's hot coffee in the lap lawsuit was mentioned I had to set the facts straight. Readers Digest had the whole story this month. McDonald's had complaints from over 700 customers of burns from hot beverages the 10 years before this lawsuit, and all the 79year old lady wanted was her $10,000 medical bills paid and McDonalds offered her $800. Big mistake. We figured after the settlement was reduced, lawyer fees, medical bills and taxes she would have been lucky to get $150,000 - no where close to million everyone says got. The 180˚ coffee temp has been reduced 10˚.

Cheer up. You can do it again on Sunday maybe.

We might get 3-5 inches Saturday night. I think they are expecting more to the south and east.

My little red car got stuck in my own driveway on the flats near the gate in what seemed to be 4" solid slush (fully premeated with liquid water, yet popped out in bricks when a square metal shove was used.

I had to borrow a 4x4 from a neighbor to go get my girls and bring them back to my house.

Today I must free my car...

David

Sounds like a fun week coming up. wunderground is saying 5-8 inches, NWS 4-6 inches for us tonight. Snow Tuesday and Wednesday, maybe some snow/rain mix Thursday evening. The moon light was bright on the new snow last night.

17*F and partly cloudy this morning.

Be safe.

16 degrees right now with a high of 32 degrees....maybe an inch of snow today/tonight (we'll see).

Our "official" accumulation from the storm was 16".

After two attempts to get to work, my boss e-mailed me and wrote to don't worry about coming in. Most of the crew didn't get in anyway.
So, my neighbors and I cleaned the street and all 4 driveways. I got most of the back deck and I need to do some more clean up today. This will consist of the snow accumulation around the house resulting from clearing the roof. That's as high as 48" (estimated).
We need to get to the store (I'm out of beer!!!!!) and I'm sure they'll be jammed today and I need to pick up a replacement refractory for our wood stove.

That slush goop is no fun. I noticed you brought up some gravel in yesterday's picture, but I couldn't figure out what the bush hog was going to do with it.

I should dig out the Civic today. That car needs to get sold, or get a garage this summer.

We have 4WD vehicles, so I don't usually bother clearing snow from our drive. But with the 2 inch layer of ice in the middle of the snow (from snow/rain/snow some more), I decided to use the FEL yesterday. I doesn't look as good as the job David did, but I took it slow and easy since I'm not snow-removal-experienced, and did a pretty good job without digging gravel up.

It's 36F, drizzling, and likely rain will turn to light snow this afternoon.

Got the coffee brewing. 56° with fog this morning. Heading to 80° with sun all day. Need go out and get gas for the car. Price for gas has jumped from $2.80 to 3.20 since last Wednesday. Sams Club is still $2.90. Need a few other item also.
I do not know weather I should be glad for the good weather we have down here in south TX. Or envious of the seat time that the northerners are getting. Please take care getting out in the cold and snow.
Good Morning All.

Good Morning All.

Good morning! 47˚ heading to 69˚ bright sunny vitamin D kind of day.

I think I get the grapple working in Garden #2, then get the tiller working, then plant some potatoes next week.

Ron you are too far South. You are going to get heat stroke.
Since neither of us have a cab, snow removal is nothing to be envious about - silly boy.

Font fence line cleanup is complete! below a pic of half of it. There is no before picture because you could not see the fence before. It just looked like the far right side of the picture.

Last storm is all cleaned up so bring it on...

Snow caves are a good way to eliminate the kids. Seriously, IF the cave collapses, the kids suffocate. Do you want that on your conscience?

6F this morning and clear as a bell. No snow in the forecast.

-16 this morning at 530 am but temps now -7 with some cloud we have temps are going up to 16 above zero.

36 degrees now, and sleeting, pretty much at the high for today, question is how long the precip keeps coming vs. tonight's
cooldown into the teens. Again. more black ice. Giant, giant mounds everywhere.
but I don't care...I snuck over to the farm and spent an hour pushing snow around with the Kubota, which considering it has a totally inappropriate HD solid bucket grapple on it, meant I was sure not very efficient. But boy did I have fun. Turned the country music on the radio, got the heat where I wanted it, though I always seem to fog things up in there, likely because I'm not using the cab a/c/defroster. My hand felt great, and I quit while I was still far ahead. And the drops started on the drive home. a fine Saturday morning screwing around...

propane heater is on in the garage and that's where I'm working this afternoon. While it is miserable outside.
May your day be relaxing and fun. And find a strong teenager to do the snow...
