JD 3038E vs Kubota L3200

I wish I had a nickle for everytime you say that.

Aside from 4.x more PTO HP, are you suggesting the 3038e has any performance advantage over the L3200?

Seriously, what objective standard other than hp, that can be measured, is there that doesn't favor the L3200? None, so arguing it would be kind of silly.

@TSO I stated no opinion in my first post...all facts. You can compare the two for yourself. It's all truth.
Not dogging you fella ... when you say something is "better" and you pick points of contention like "metal vs plastic" or "paint quality" or "implement choices" etc etc etc .... realize that those things are opinions. Some people may believe that plastic is better. Some people may think the JD paint is better, and so on.

The only things that are NOT opinion or hyperbole are straight factual comparisons like HP, hydraulic flow, lift specs, etc.

I'm happy for you, especially because you think you got the better tractor. In the end, you personal feelings are all that really matters, it's your money!

@ DKCDKC

Lets clear the air here and now. A - I am not some old dude who trolls the net looking for conflict on a forum. This will be my last post on this comparison thread. B - I am not being defensive at all in my original post. In this post I am now defending my self and my original post because you chose to read what you wanted to. And now you are trolling. If you read I stated the debate is old and tired. Your comparing Apples to Oranges....Steak to Chicken. Both are suited for individuals who find them the right fit. My post stated take off the FREAKING color goggles and drive all of them and find what you like. If you read the other post people compared the cost of the two. Yes I paid more for my Kubota...I know I did. My friend is still upset I am sure because I did not buy a tractor from him. I test drove, test drove, and drove some more.

Here is the funny thing...out of all my friends and family and people I know...guess who had the strongest voice and who just harassed the crap out of me. The JD owners, bias as the day is long....and as you stated you talked to people before you bought. JD is a cult following from what I can tell now that I have read on this forum, almost like HD or Ford guys. Heck you probably drive a Ford also. Guess what I have a Nissan...shocking right? All my buddies have Fords...guess I should have bought a Ford also. :( Massy guys congratulated me, Mahindra guy said nice buy I like it, JD guys...and this is the truth...found things wrong with it. No shield over the fuel filter bowl and no cover over the lower hydraulic lines for the bucket. Instead of beating me up over my purchase should have been congrats like the rest of my friends. So...enjoy your 3038E, enjoy the plastic parts, enjoy the Yanmar motor, enjoy the smaller tank, enjoy the 400+lbs of needed weight to push and pull that you do not have, enjoy only 2 speeds on your HST, enjoy your over priced and hard to find parts. Seriously I really hope you do...as you stated I bought mine, as you did yours.

Now after that rant...re-read my original post. It just states that these two tractors cannot be compared...the only thing they have in common are the price range and HP range. Other than that it is a true Kubota vs. parted out JD production...not even a real JD. Again apples to oranges....move up to a bigger size Kubota and JD to compare.

Happy Wednesday!
Reread your post and mine. No changes. You cite differences you obviously feel make the JD inferior. I disagree. The characteristics you cite I believe are (a) entirely subjective and of no value to me, (b) wrong, or (c) are some aspect not important to me in my tractor use. I have friends with tractors of all colors, and most are happy with their units. I will say that all the pros around here who live by their tractors - farmers - are overwhelmingly green. Of course, one thing you left out of your equation is service - and we have a solid, experienced JD dealer here. No other dealer of any color within reasonable driving distance is as good.

I guess my initial response to your post was to the assertion that a color-blind comparison would inevitably show the superiority of your choice. My answer was that your choice was based on your needs - no one else's - and your experience. My color-blind comparison using my needs and experience caused me to pick JD. If there is some JD secret society out there, they've never invited me in. I know I made the right choice and no one citing subjective, irrelevant or questionable comparisons is going to change that.

Best of luck with your orange and I hope, five or ten years out, you and I remain content with our purchases. By the way, farmers around here drive Chevy trucks. My three vehicles are a Ford 150 4wd, a Jimmy 4wd and a Subaru awd. Works for me.

A Ha. Murphy is trying to be a troublemaker..... Just kidding and I am thankful that no one here has yet gotten under my skin. Only one poster has ever been condescending to me and I forget his name. So, no harm apparently came from it and I can come here and enjoy this great website. Funny how with everything on the internet, I find more useful information and things I want to do HERE.

And in answer to R4 vs. R1. I can get stuck with either. Just try me. If you have a mudhole I will somehow find a way to bury myself in it. I just can't seem to resist the challenge.

Have a great day guys and gals.

@krobertson- Grats on the new tractor. You will enjoy it greatly. I got one and love it. I probably would have liked the other brands as well since they are all so much more capable than my old 20 horse tractor. I also have a 1967 fiat-allis 5020 with 4x4 issues and this one has made it so I can actually enjoy maintaining my land again.

can someone pm me as to where the next secrete society meeting is
I've never been invited :ashamed:

The first rule of secret John Deere society is that you don't talk about secret John Deere society.

Sorry.

I hope that makes everyone laugh as much as I am right now.

They're held every third Tuesday right after the Flat Earth Society meetings.

They're held every third Tuesday right after the Flat Earth Society meetings.

I've been to that one and there was never any mentioning of the JD meeting afterward
