first I will be using it to put some drain lines to get rid of some spring/ground water on my property. After that, will be using it for whatever comes up. My inlaws have about 30 acres that will be coming to my wife and some point (hopefully a long, long time from now) but there are some things that need done to that property.

I also would like to start picking up some little jobs using the backhoe and loader. Drains, utility lines and the such...

Stability is one of the advantages of the BX over the B. I also mow on a lot of slopes, and when I was shopping for a tractor, I found that the BX felt much safer on slopes

The BX25 is one of my favorite Kubotas. I've owned several BXs and several Bs and one L. On a hillside the closer to the ground the more stable you feel. Here's a pic of my BX that I've traded in to get a B2620 FEL BH and think I'd rather have a BX25.

Then you go ahead flip tractor for easier oil & filter change! what some people will do to save a couple minutes:)

I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but just need that extra push one way or the other to make my decision. I was priced a new BX25 with 54" fine cut deck, 3 point and extra set of wheel with turf tires( tractor is coming with R4's) for just under $19000.

Is that the deal I have been looking for? Is that about as good as it is going to get? Need to make a decision pretty quickly. I don't like leaving folks hanging for very long.

I appreciate you sharing your buying experience with me.

thanks in advance!

Jon

Questions:

1. This is a new tractor?
2. Is this cash or financed price?
3. Did you consider the 60" regular cut deck?
4. How much $ extra are the set of turf tires and wheels?
5. Is this a 2013 or 2014?

I just got a price yesterday on BX25 with 60" MMM and 3 point kit for $19k financed. (no extra tires and wheels)

Your price sounds good.

I appreciate the feedback from all. I can't go any larger than the BX size machine due to my needs. This will primarily be used as a mower for my 1.75 acres. More than half is a hill that I mow with the Gravely Rider. I do have a concern about the stability on the hill compared to the Gravely. The Gravely is VERY stable.

My plan is to run primarily the turfs, unless conditions required or when using as a backhoe and then I will put on the R4's.

Never gave much thought to the thumb. It really is that useful, huh?

Yes - thumb for cutting wood (its your log holder), moving rock/building walls, and many more functions.

As others have said forego the turf tires as the R4's are fine for everything. The extra set of wheels and tires will just take up space and the hour it takes to change will get tiring after a while.

Well, I am still betting that after the first time of getting the R4 tires on, the turfs get stored in the garage from then on. Normally turf tires are a bit wider than R1 and even R4 tires but in the case of the B25 (tractordata) they are the same size so you wont get any more flotation from them, just no traction on even wet grass. That little toy tractor isn't heavy enough even when adding the 600+ pounds of the backhoe to do any damage to the lawn with R4 tires.
Why not try it with the R4 before you spend the xtra $$ for turfs. You may find that they work perfectly as is and you wont have to bother switching tires.
