TSO, the new Massey looks great. I'm not on the forum very often, but came across an old video on Youtube you had made with your CK20s digging a pond. Was impressed with what you were able to accomplish with that little tractor. Then I found your thread comparing 50 HP cab tractors, which I appreciate you posting and have filed away.

I'm curious, though, how much it cost to get coverage from State Farm for your tractor. I'm assuming it covers the tractor while being trailered as well?

If I remember correctly, it was $1.25 per hundred dollars I wanted insured. So, I think I insured it for $30,000, which cost about $375 for the year. That's with $0 deductible, and covers me wherever I go. If I wanted to add a deductible, it would have been cheaper of course. "Personal" use, not commercial. It is an add on, part of my inland marine policy.

RKjeep ... Definitely not more than 16. My Massey is about the same, actually it has a digital speedometer, the fastest I've had it was around 17.5 going down my driveway, on a slight decline.

How's the loader? Got enough snort for you?

My 1643's DL120 does the job...barely. We move the big round bales with this tractor and sometimes if the bales are extra heavy (1,100-1,200lbs) the loader really, really struggles.

Haven't really tested it yet. I've only used it for moving snow so far, which obviously isn't much of a test. I'll know more once Spring comes and I can really start using her.

I've practically memorized the 1600 series pamphlet and I have to tell you, while I really like this 1643 (the size is nice as it fits a performance/capability gap between our John Deere 850 and Belarus 525 w/70hp), part of me is wondering if I should have tried to swing for a 1652 with the DL130 loader.

The 1652 has the bigger engine (over the 1648), more power, a bit more weight, and a longer wheelbase, plus the heavier loader. Not sure I could have afforded it, but after seeing this 1643 struggle with the bales, I can't help but wonder.

Thanks, I will say that it's nice to not have to wear headphones while on the tractor!

And speaking of the loader, here is a pic of me unloading the stump grinder from my trailer. I'm not exactly sure on the weight I'm guessing somewhere around 800 pounds with the 4x6 pallet.







The loader didn't have any problems with it ... didn't know it was there I'd say. Although, that's not really enough weight to test this loader. I still think that the LS loader might have had more power at the ground, but this one seems stronger once you get up off the ground.

I'll still have to wait to pass judgment until it warms up and I start using it more for other things.

I have a 1540 without a cab, didn't think I wanted to mess with the door, besides I couldn't yell at my dang dog when he always runs in front of the tractor or bites at the tires. He is such a pain. I need to figure out where to hang a tool box that is out of the way but handy to get to. The box behind the seat just doesn't cut it.
I have been getting oil from the Massy dealer, but wonder what you guys are using that maybe priced a little better. Are you using synthetic or regular oil?

Yeah, 800lbs isn't that much. Even my 1643/DL120 could lift that with no problem. These round hay bales can be well over 1,000lbs, though, some as heavy as 1,200lbs. This tractor/loader combo really struggles when they get that heavy.

Still, I like the tractor and am glad to have it. Like I said earlier, it filled a capability gap between two of our other tractors, whereas a 1652 would have been very close to the Belarus 525 and duplicated much of what it could do.

So now that you have had the tractor for 2.5 months ish how is the tractor treating you, i heard you mention in another thread that you now had reached the 50 hour mark.
