What grease gun are you using??

Interesting. I don't like the lever grease guns because they take two hands to operate. I use the pistol grip style like bigfoot posted which I can operate with one hand while holding the fitting on with the other. I do a lot of greasing. Between all my equipment, trucks, implements I bet I have well over 100 grease fittings. I was basing my time savings off using my air operated grease gun vs the manual.

How long do the batteries last? I have several grease guns and keep them with certain equipment.

I'm basing it off the lever style, that's all we've ever used on the farm. Two handed job. For keeping it with a particular machine etc, the old manual greaser would be the way to go. A trigger style manual gun I've never used so I can't say. On the M12, Milwaukee claims 7 tubes of grease iirc, not sure though. I don't run that many consecutive tubes before charging, I usually throw it on the charger every few days when it's being used regularly. I initially purchased the bare tool with no battery or charger, as I already had them from other tools. I figured what the heck, I'd give it a try and I was pleasantly surprised.

Lithium Ion batterys hold a charge well and don't go dead in storage like the old ni mh and nicads do.

I only know about the Milwaukees. The claim is the Milwaukee 12V grease gun @ 8,000psi can empty 7 tubes on single charge with 3.0 amp XC battery.

There is 18volt Milwaukee version also @10,000psi and has a longer 4 ft hose and two speed settings. Much more costly. If you already have Milwaukee products buying a bare tool without a battery kit is a less expensive way to go.

Time to get into the 21st century & get a Milwaukee 12VDC cordless. I see Amazon has 'em for $181.

I have 2 hand models, pistol grip models and a 12 volt Lincoln. I have had the Lincoln for several years. I like it so well, I don't think I have used a manual one since the Lincoln came home.

I have the 18 volt Milwaukee. Best money I have ever spent. Makes greasing my excavator or anything else for that matter much less of a chore.

I have an old Lincoln lever gun that belonged to my father. Still works great but I have replaced the follower, hose and tip.

This the gun I have been using for 50+ years. It was my fathers, so it may have 20 or 30 more years of service. It has never failed or needed parts. The hose on it is one I use for greasing the wet bolts on my trailer with a right angle tip. The original hose and connector still works good.

I have several lever types, i looked into the lincoln 18v, was about to purchase it until ingersoll rand just added one to its IQV20 line up. I just purchased their 20v impact gun and am very pleased with it, so im gonna go with their 20v grease gun as well, looks well built, little pricy $299.99 with one battery, however i already have to batteries so im ok with that.

It's a gooder-un! :thumbsup:

It gets on zerks that the other types won't latch onto.

It is straight until you pull back the spring loaded collar and move the tip to the needed angle. Mine will go a little past 90 degrees.
