jk, I think Eddie's granite experience could solve the issues you guys are having. Maybe if you can get your wife to pick it before it is cut, she won't have to weep anymore.
Color and match in the perimeter isn't really an issue with the new slab. We went direct to the slab yards to pick the stone. There are about 10 different yards an hour from us. The granite for the perimeter that we are having issues with is basically identical at all the yards we went to. The new piece will come from the same yard and slabs we already approved. They will also send the original piece back to the yard to verify color match.
The issues have been handled without question at no cost to us. They verified the template and will re-cut. That is part of their service and I would prefer to stay out of verifying their work is correct before cutting. I would worry that if I stepped in and approved the template and cut, then the burden would be shifted to me. Right now all of the responsibility is left with them for getting it right. I'm sure the next piece will go in without issue.
