It was pretty muddy out there. I was pretty certain I was tearing up more than I was clearing up..
No time to clean it off either.

Please get a ballast box ASAP.

Maybe.

I'm partial to the flexibility of a ballast box. They are affordable and easily filled with sand. (Some people fill them with concrete.)

Think about where you are using the tractor. In the woods, will the box blade be a little large dimension wise as you maneuver around trees?

I see what you are saying. I'm looking for one. I must be putting in the wrong description. I can't find new or used anywhere.

If one is not currently advertised on Craigs I'd suggest these options:

- Contact any tractor dealer near you and see if they have one, new or used, at a reasonable price. A ballast box is not brand specific. Last year Yanmar/Cub Cadet must have had too many in stock as they were all over the internet for $150 - $225.

- Tractor Supply, or similar retailer, I would guess would sell these.

- Ebay has some for just over $300. However, shipping can be significant unless an item happens to be close to you.

Make sure you secure the hydraulic lines from the loader to the frame just behind the right front tire. They are really vulnerable to abrasion from the tire. Also familiarize yourself with the rocker neutral switch under the HST pedal. You will get something jammed in there and the tractor will refuse to start. Brush work is notorious for this.

I've seen a comment or two about this. Any pics or a link as to the fix?
Thx

For the Hydro lines I just have a pair of heavy zip ties around the useless factory guard, which is just a piece of rod with a 90* bend in it. The rocker switch is just something you have to be aware of. It will happen a couple of times guaranteed and you will be sitting there scratching your head for a while. It takes nothing to hold it open, usually a twig the size of a 10 gauge wire.

I found a "county line carry all" at Tractor supply. Says it'll hold 1,000 #s.
Maybe I can mount a barrel on it? Not having any luck finding anything else.
