Do you recall where they show that? I found two pages on their About Us section that says Daedong USA was established in 1993, but couldn't find a mention if the first sales under the Kioti name here.....strange.

Good old Wiki to the rescue HERE
It think it's somewhere on their website too...I remember seeing it.

Wiki says 1993, and I found two places on the Kioti site that say 1993, but whizdbiz2 said he saw 1986?

well guy's being fairly new to this tractor thing, I don't know if I should worry about finding part's in the future or not any more, After all your comment's time will tell, I even was thinking of selling the BobCat and Buying a JD, but first of all I am not a rich man and the money I would loose on this deal is too much, and now I don't even know if JD will some day get out of the small tractor business, after all Saturn and Olds and Buick went and I did work for a Buick dealership for 15 years, so Ya, it made me realize, no one know's, I am just a little disappointed that my tractor is one of the one that is gone.

and like the song say's que sera sera....

again thnx for all the help and comment's this is a great forum, and I know that some day if I do need a Bob Cat part or advice on a repair you guy's are their.

I myself was a while back wondering if Deere would stay in the small tractor business or not until I saw them on the news. I cannot remember the exact percentage the small tractors made up but from what I remember the number was very high which led me to believe it would be stupid of them to exit the small tractor business.

Im wondering if CAT will ever enter the smaller tractor market. I saw a nice glass enclosed mini excavator on a jobsite last week. it was a cat. According to their site they have them down to 13 HP.

Now if there making mini excavators......why not tractors.

I wonder if the US market/economy could support another tractor manufacturer?

Here in Central New York many compact tractor dealers are struggling to sell their in stock units.

CAT is a great brand but, like Bobcat, I think they are better off financially if they "stick to their knitting".

I doubt they would. If you look at there past in AG they got rid of the Challenger to Agco although they service them. The Cat combine was just a Claas with yellow paint and a Cat engine. They now just say Claas and the Cat engine was removed. They are still sold at Cat dealers. They now just say Claas. Only reason why they have not dropped the yellow in USA is because the survey said the USA farmers don't like the lime green. They also sale the rest of the Challenger tractor/combine line which is basically a Massey Ferguson painted yellow

Cat did supply CUTs under the Challenger name until they sold the ag business to AGCO. Caterpillar bled dearly from their agriculture venture so as soon as that CEO retired ag went. However Cat does still build engines and power train components for ag, and Cat didn't leave their dealers holding the bag. Our dealer in Minnesota, Ziegler, has actually expanded their ag business into other Cat dealer's territory where that dealer doesn't want to do ag (Cat is not like a car company - a dealer gets an exclusive territory. In this case Ziegler has ag dealerships in Fabco's territory in Wisconsin and Yancey's territory in Missouri. Some sell Challenger, some sell the full AGCO line, and some I'm not sure. Like I've never asked our local branch, which has only Challenger brand Massey tractors on the lot, if I could buy the same tractor with Massey paint and still get my employee discount.
