My family all 4 wheel with Jeeps and Buggies. Some say if you can get yourself out with your winch, you ain't stuck. Everytime I've unspooled my winch I've definitely been stuck....

Coming from a fellow off road buggy person.

The rule is if you have to get out of the driver seat or ask someone else to do something that you can not do from the drivers seat YOU ARE STUCK!
If you need even the slightest nudge from an other buggy or jeep to get over or threw an obstacle you are stuck!

There are no exceptions to the rules!

If you can get yourself out, you are not stuck, just delayed. It helps to have 4 wheel jacks. Add some boards or firewood and out you go.

Sorry but the words "If you can get yourself out" says it all! You are stuck and then get out, the delay in fact being you were STUCK ! Its a simple process and no matter how you define it if you leave the drivers seat to do something to help get moving you are stuck!

One of my friends always tried to play it off as he wasn't really stuck when we used to buggy ride regularly so one day we drove off and left him there for a few hours without offering that friendly nudge to get him moving. He then realized that STuck was stuck and there is no in between. Having the tools needed to get out of a STUCK dosnt make in any less of a stuck it simply makes it easy and quicker to get out.

Raised on a Deere,
So sorry your thread veered off the subject. Here's a couple of photos of me pushing clay, like a dozer with no tooth bar. Get the angle of the bucket just right and damp clay will roll off in front of the bucket. It's slow going, but a tooth bar would do it better.1-2-09 Big RED Beast pushing clay.jpg1-2-09 Mahindra dozing lots of clay.jpg

If you can't get your old pond dry enough to muck out with your loader bucket, you can contract it out to an operator with a long reach excavator.

No that would be a rest stop having nothing to do with the forward motion being stopped by the loss of sufficient traction!:confused2:

Actually he just sat there and drank beer while he waited for our return. Didn't even try to get it out as he had no tools on board only a cooler with a 30 pack.:drink:

He knew you would come back for the supplies. And that would help get him out of the hole.

Who gets off their tractor to pee?

I think a qualifier is needed to distinguish between 'stuck' and 'delayed'. If your tractor is 'delayed' by a whole afternoon, that probably should put it in the 'stuck' category. How long can a tractor be delayed and not be stuck?
