Will the B-Series front suitcase weights sold by Kubotą (and some after-markets) be able to be attached to the front frame without removing the brush guard? I have a B3030. This is the only picture I can find that shows the brush guard and the front frame rail.

The weight looks like this.

I would prefer to keep the brush guard on the tractor and simply remove the loader and add the front weights when needed. Supposedly, on a B3030, up to three 55-pound weights can be added directly to the front rail and up to five of them can be installed with the addition of a special weight bracket. I'm pretty sure that the 5-weight bracket would require removing the brush guard. But for three weights, will the guard get in the way? My local dealer does not know. Thanks.

Well, sure doesn't appear so.

The problem I see is the 3 weights won't offset the loader. So the tractor will be lighter in the front with the weights and no loader.

I suffer with this problem with my M9540. The loader weighs somewhere around 2K lbs. Of course not all of it is on the front axle. I built a weight rack and added 6 105lb weights. Tractor was lighter in the front than with loader. This Winter I extended the rack and will now carry 8. Haven't had a chance to try it yet to see how it works.

I also use weights on the front of my JD2210 when carrying the tote box on the 3pt or the 5ft BB. I can carry 3 of the same 105lb weights I use on the 9540.

The little 55lb weights just don't seem to be enough to me???

Let us know what you find out.

With my 2620 I looked to add weights as well but I can't offset the lack of the loader with the back hoe installed. The front barely touches and steering is iffy. I just bite the bullet and drop the BH. I have loaded rears which helps with traction in snow and ice while I'm plowing/blowing.

You may get by with out removing the brush guard since the brush guard attaches to the side of the frame. The weight bracket probably attaches to the front of the frame, it is probably the same one they use on the BX.

I don't think so. I took a better picture of my front end and you can see that the bottom of the brush guard extends forward beyond the face of the frame.

And here is the 5-weight bracket. It looks like it is meant to be bolted flush against the front rail, extending out a bit from both sides of the rail.

That issue may be a moot point as far as I am concerned because I was planning on adding just 3 weights - no extra bracket required. I realize three 55-pound weights won't be close to the weight of the removed loader and bucket but it will definitely help me in a couple of tight maneuverability tasks where I lose some steering ability.

So, back to my original question. When hanging the weights on the front rail, they must need to be tipped slightly to get them in place and then un-tipped down into their final position. What I am unsure of is if there is enough clearance from the brush guard when in the tipped position.

I can get the after-market version of the weights from a New Holland dealer at a good price and without freight charges. But I was told that if they don't fit that I probably would not be able to return them. Obviously I will want to know if they fit before I order them.

Any B3030 or B2630 owners out there that use, or have looked into using front suitcase weights? I'm anxious to hear about it. Thanks.

I tried this a couple of years ago. It did not work and I returned the weights.

I don't recall exactly. I purchased the weights from a Kubota dealership. The dealership said they thought that the weights would work with the guard. I got them home and they would not go on properly. I returned them. Sorry I'm not more helpful.

If you don't have the weight bracket you will not have a way to secure the weights onto the tractor. I don't think the weights would go over the frame properly either. If the brush guard is as wide as the frame were it extends beyond the frame the weight bracket might fit with it on. Does any dealer near you stock the bracket? Can you measure the bracket to see it it will fit on with the grill guard or try it on a tractor at the dealer. You could also build a custom bracket if the Kubota one won't work with the grill guard.

I have aftermarket weights on the BX. The are just like the Kubota weights but they don't say Kubota. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/257252-bx2360-upgrades-5.html

I almost bought these weights and bracket and made the fit the BX. You could do the same for your tractor. http://www.shop.circlegtractorparts.com/product.sc?productId=3945&categoryId=-1
