Any Pictures of the Corvette?

Tuesday night a customer brought his 50th anniversary Vette in for me to put a new battery in it. It is a 6 speed car. He also has a 67 with a numbers matching 427 in it. I may have some pictures of it. I am pretty sure I have some of the engine from when I rebuilt it.

It is a 1992. I think it has 77k miles on it.

Before:

After: I could have done more for the paint but it was just a basic detail.

Nice work.

Chris

Thanks.

The guy just picked up the Corvette. When he walked in and saw it he said WOW. He said his wife is going to be very happy with it, it is her car.

Darn. What a disappointment: When I saw the title of the thread and the original poster's name, I thought I was going to see his L4240 detailed. :)

I think it is about a hundred bucks a month. That is what i pay for 3 grand kids cell phones. They follow me with the chain saw too. I can cut it faster than the 3 of them can stack it.

That is good you keep yours in shape by having them detailed monthly.

Roger, I should have known. Your tractor looks lovely. Mine looks a bit forlorn right now. Dirt from snow plowing, and some dust and dirt from winter winds. Nonetheless, I envy you your shiny tractor. When the snow melts, I will wash and wax (but not detail). However, that is a month or two away. Tomorrow, we get six to twelve inches new snow.

I will say I am pleased about one thing: This winter, I didn't need chains. My snowplowing skills are improving - slowly. This summer, I will sipe the tires, and that should lead to even better performance next winter.
PMH.

Those pictures of the tractor are from when I cleaned it up back last spring. I have had it very dirty several times and I have washed it several times. My original plan last when I deatailed it was to do it again in the fall. I used a sealant instead of a wax. It held up so well that all I have done is wash it. When I dry it it I use a quick detailer with my drying cloth to prevent swirls so it adds some protection. After I wash it I can see clouds in the hood sitting in the seat. I am using the tractor a good bit right now but after things lighten up I am going to go over it again.

Back in the winter I cleared a few drivrways that were on a dirt road. The 4240 runs fast enough to throw mud on the roof. I am also very pleased how the 4240 performs in the snow. I really don't see much need for chains either. I did have driveway I struggled with one night. The driveway was blacktop and the snow had meleted a little then it froze. The driveway was very steep too. It was so slick you could barely walk up it. I could not make it to the top that night. I went back the next morning and went right up it. I think it got up to 84* here today, crazy weather.

Yesterday and last night we had a bit of snow. This morning it was 9F. However, at this time of year, it warms up quickly, and the snow melts quickly in the sunshine. We had about 12" but, by the time I took these pictures, the sunny spots had melted to about 4". If I didn't hurry, I wouldn't have had a chance to use the tractor.:)
