This will be interesting to watch.
As to gravel flooring, I've see even 8-9 stone that was very stable (under a CUT, at least), could be touched up to level easily with an inverted garden rake, laughed at spills/leaks, and was fine to walk/stand on once old rugs were positioned in work areas. (Not bad, IMO.) Having said that, some folks like to have wheels on tool boxes, service carts, and work tables, adding to the trend to later slab pours. (btw, 'G' moved his stone out to make approaches for the slab and blended the rest onto the grade surrounding the whole shazoo, does the 'chemical trim' to 3-4' out, and his mower glides around with no trimming ever. Vermin will get into any & every building, and among them are groundhogs. Not hard to spot a fresh hole in tidy gravel, tho'.![]()

I'll follow ye thread, IH. I'm always interested in this slab vs. pier debate. I'm needing a new bigger barn, and not wanting to go slab either due to cost. Oh, boys, what in the world is/are OPE?
