This is a flasher style that I put together.

When you hit it. It rocks back and you see the red indicator.

Very nice!

Not the best scope, but certainly can see what you are wanting to see at 400yds - bought from Menard's last month "Barska spotting scope" for $69.99

Seems like you would want a spotting scope for many reasons when shooting at that distance?

I'm sorry, I don't understand your question.
I will eventually break down and buy a hunting scope.
I do buy "lower end" products for some things but I'm happy to spend the money up front for hunting gear.
I'm 33 and want this gear to last as long as I do!

I have also used auto car alarm shock sensors to activate a brake light to indicate a hit at long range but I don't have any photos uploaded.

This is precisely what I was looking for!
I originally considered a motion sensor, or an audio sensor but car alarm is perfect.
I will run it to a flashing light and set it to "go off" for 10 seconds.
Thanks very much!

This is a 10 plate rack like the first one I posted but it has 3 different size plates on it. It resets with the last large plate, so you can still play if you can't hit the small ones.

Very nice looking set up.

This is what happens to a 250 grain lead .45 colt when it hits a swinging target.

The last ones I setup, I bought the sensors from BG Micro as surplus for $3ea

Do you recall the name/model of the sensor?
I'd be happy to buy the proper one the first time around.

If you could provide a list of all parts including part numbers I would be eternally grateful.

I'm surprised you can't hear a clang even with ear protection on.

I shoot 8" and 12" targets suspended from chains out to 550yds and I can always hear them "ring" and see them swing.
