Wired on the plug last night, plugged the PA300 in and looked at the display. When i wired in the receptacle I put it high on the wall where little fingers (grandson) couldn't get to it. I also put it upside down by accident so the cord comes off toward the ceiling, so i turned that over as long as I was wired.
I am going to run a bead this weekend (if the rain stops) but have a confession, a compliment, & a question. First the confession, it's been a couple few years since I've welded. In my day I eventually was able to make clean hot welds and was even tapped to fill in for the full time welder whenever he took leave. But I really only did was I was told, i.e. "For this steel use this rod & set the dial here, for that steel use that rod and set the dial there..." IOW, I didn't have to think to weld.
Now the compliment: The advice here has been awesome and I think I can pick the right rod for some basic work and have an idea where to set the dial to start. We'll see!
My question, I remember that welding galvanized anything is a no go, there may be specialized set-ups or safety precautions that make it doable, I don't know. What about plated nuts, bolts, washers, etc...? You know, the garden variety hardware you pick up out of the bulk bins at the store. Is it okay to weld these, or should I seek out the non plated variety?
Yeah, I got two Husqvarnas if that helps
