Odd Question - My freezer is sweating??? WTH?

Humidifier ASAP!!!!!

If his freezer is sweating, dehumidifier for sure if he can't draw out the moisture via ventilation means. If it's that "moist", may as well set up a lawn chair and take a case of beer to monitor and empty the pan.

They make little pumps with a small pan and a float that will automatically pump the water up and out thru some small diameter tubing. Might be worth looking into, because as previously said, you might as well sit there because the pan will fill up in no time and the de-humidifier will shut down.

It's better though if you get one with a garden hose connection drain, and use a hose to drain by gravity into a sump, or floor drain.

Plenty of heat and humidity here. I've learned to operate the freezer and refrigerator ONLY in the air conditioned part of the house.

I had some humidity problems in my garage last summer, and got a GE humidifier from Home Depot. It was an easy quick fix and really has performed great. I plumbed it to a drain to outside, which has worked well except for one week this winter when we were well below freezing for a long time and the line froze up. Switched over to using the internal tank then.

I bought a new dehumidifier last year. And, I was very discouraged by the reviews of them. People were not getting more than a couple of years out of them, and they were junk.

I got 10 years out of my last one, but don't expect that to happen again.

My older fridge/freezer has a manual switch in the freezer compartment, that shuts off the door heaters.

I'd start with a dehumidifier etc, as posted, but check for a manual heater switch. I leave my door heaters off in the Winter, and turn them on in the Summer when I see door sweats - I have central AC, but don't run it much.

Ours, too. Sometimes it says something about "economy" too..... meanin it uses less electricity if you turn that feature off, but may cause condensation on the exterior.

Look for that setting on the freezer.
