Mahindra: Nothing but problems

What's the benefit of the 20 series?
It's entirely made in India. I have never heard of any chronic problems in the 20 series as I have heard about in the 10 series.

OK, Libel, and as you say, know the law, Because you have a bad tractor, and I don't doubt you do, every Mahindra is faulty, or inferior and the company should go down in ashes? That is kind of like saying all Aliens are sexual perverts. We know all green men from Mars aren't all bad, right???? There are quite a few complaints about particular models on this forum, and they are legitimate, but don't be a moron and throw all the Mahindra tractors, or GM products, or BMW's etc under the bus. It is really a very ignorant call and you CAN be sued for it. Your ticked off, everyone gets it, LOUD AND CLEAR.

Hey kootch88, did you notice DOT in Gray, Me went from deere to Mahindra? Some nice machines.

I haven't noticed that, where are they parked, on rte 26 by the Post office? That is pretty cool that they made the switch.

I'm not implying that anyone in this thread is doing so, just pointing out the risk one takes when speaking their mind in a venue like TBN, unless what they say is in fact true.

:

The burden of proof for a libel or slander suit falls on the plaintive. Mahindra may have plenty of ammo as the op has decided to go public but all the work to prove libel rests in their camp. If his assertions were stated with "my opinion" he now falls under the "right to free speech" and is protected to a greater degree. The last part of this equation is Mahindra would have to show due cause for a suit such as reduction of profit caused by harm to its reputation as a result of defamation.

CM, Opinions are NOT illegal. But, practicing law and giving legal advice without a license is illegal.

Oh please! Practicing law, giving legal advice? I'm not doing either. If anything I'm reflecting what is part of TBN's requirements for every member regarding what is allowed to be said in these forums, AND what each member agrees to when one signs up as a member. One chooses to ignore those requirements then one is open to being removed from membership, in addition to consequences under the law. I don't make the rules of TBN's policy, but those who choose to blatantly ignore them face the consequences; just like in the rest of the real world. TBN is NOT a licence to do or say whatever one wants with no consequence for content.
Post # 166 of this thread states: "Need I say more about how much of a rip-off Mahindra is?"
The problem with statements like that regardless of whether one considers them to be opinion, fact or fiction, the manufacturer is not here to defend their reputation, and clearly the statement was not made in support of the product(s). And, just like 'free speech' manufacturers have a right to not be hurt by false accusations; which is once again why the law provides remedies for both libel and slander.
Is there any question here as to whether the statement is false? Was it intended to help or hurt Mahindra's reputation? Was it intended to steer potential customers away from Mahindra?

Whose practicing law now Murph?:confused2:

A suit doesn't need to be brought by Mahindra against a potential plaintiff because the mere fact that Mahindra, or any other manufacturer might choose to contact an individual about what they said about a corporation is enough of a fear instilling factor for most people to seek remedy outside a courtroom. As stated above TBN doesn't allow for negative or false statements about manufacturers in these forums, so your 'free speech' protection is moot. And 'free speech' doesn't hold harmless individuals from making false statements.
