I'm right about to get a tractor but every time I think I have my mind made up I research some more. The three tractors I'm looking at are Kioti CK250H, Kubota b2920 and JD 2320. I know these are all completely different tractors but when I compare the specs they aren't that far apart. The one thing that I keep coming back to is the weight of the Kioti. It is a least 500 lbs heavy than the other two. The koi to is new and the others are used but with low hours. The other thing that I can't figure is the difference in the hp/pto hp on the kubota. Why is there 8 hp difference while the other two only have a difference of 4 hp. I need help with these two issues. I'm hoping to make my purchase in the next couple days.

Again it depends on your uses.Weight is not good if you are going to be on the lawn.Do you want metal body parts or plastic? What dealer are you comfortable with. You are only talking 4 HP difference, depends what you are doing if you would notice or not.HP is like lifting capacity;it depends how the builders test.Wood chippers and PTO gen sets require the most horse power;roto-tillers not so much.

I have been very pleased with the B2920 thus far. The only small thing I found with it is the height adjustment on the MMM is not designed very well but there is a way to get around this or there is even a possible fix to it which someone posted in these forums.
Not sure why there is bigger drop in hp at the pto with the Kubota but it still has a little more than the other two.

I realize that there are different tractor for different applications. If I got anything from the forums is my needs for a tractor. I'm somewhat basing my purchase on price. The Kubota is $12,700 no tax. The JD is $13,000 plus 7%. The kioti is $15,300 plus 6%. Mostly I will b brush hogging, rototilling and loader work. I plan on adding a bh later. I just don't want to regret my purchase.

If you're financing I would look at the BH right away. The subframe and price can be substantial and hard to get it later on.

Go for the gold standard, Kubota. They are the measuring stick.

The kioit is a better digger and would be most effective with a backhoe. The others would be better finish mowers. Bush hogging, it's probably a wash, with a slight edge given to the one with the most pto hp.

I have soft ground much of the year and find lighter tractors work better for my needs. I can always add weight to the 3 pt and/or wheel weights when I need it and when the ground is dry. I can not add more hp to push a heavier tractor. Having said that, Kiotis are good tractors, I will not disagree with that. My preference in that group would be Kubota, Yanmar* then Kioti. *the real small Deere

I would not worry about weight as these are very small machines not Ag machines.

That makes sense.
