My turn:

As for the OP he has been jumping up and down for some time with his hatred for Everlast, and his dissatisfaction with his Everlast welder. I don't know what his problem is with the welder, but he has been unhappy for some time. As for Scooby, He is the main reason I own an Everlast welder. He has hated them from the day they arrived here on this forum as an advertiser. His foaming at the mouth vitriol is why I contacted Mark to inquire about pricing for my PA160 and was pleasantly surprised by the price and I purchased immediately. I don't like people that attempt to bully and drive people into their way of thinking, and I tend to go the other way or at least investigate the situation. I am very pleased with my Everlast Welder, and while I am no welding pro, in fact far far from it, It has met all my expectations.

In fact in my signature line I placed the fact that I was a very satisfied Everlast welder owner some time ago, again in response to the hatred shown by Scooby to Everlast, and his constant harping on how they are "cheap Chinese Junk". This latest labeling incident has caused these two haters of Everlast to jump on this like a chicken on a June-bug.

I write these mainly for the benefit of those that did not know that the OP and Scooby have a long standing history of hatred of Everlast. And I challenge them both to call me liar or shill. I write this with all sincerity.

For a Free Welder I'll stuff him in a box.

For god's sake, make sure the box is properly labeled!

Psst, make sure the return address is someplace else......ahem maybe Siberia

Buy whatever you want. I hardly care.

However none of your post changes the fact that the company was caught in a lie, found out to be using counterfeit labeling, selling devices that may or may not meet appropriate standards in my country.

Again, precisely the reasoning for my hatred of cheap chinese product.

Once again, and I quote from the RCMP "The investigation determined there were counterfeit CSA certification marks affixed to the above noted models of Everlast Welders." .

this statement simply informs you that the stickers were not authorized by the CSA and are considered to be incorrect ( or not legitimately issued) so do not assume the unit you bought is certified .... any following statements urging you to dispose of the units , are simply a blanket statement for your own protection .... (and to cover theirs for not informing you )

does the letter state they are filing charges and taking Everlast to court for fraud after they investigated?

most times they cannot say "why" they are informing you about XXXXX because they are still in the investigating mode
and have found something but not the whole story and might prejudice their case.

the RCMP cannot ( and should not ) decide on their own whether a plug and cord are safe or not ... just that they don't conform to the CSA standard and there fore the labeling is incorrect ... and that how the incorrect labels got on the machines must be routed out .... that probably is the stage they are are at now .....

OMG, STOP THAT BUS. If there is anything that doesn't meet CSA standards it's Bieber.:yuck: Actually I doubt he meets any quality standards anywhere. Maybe send him to China, not Canada, because they don't recognize patents. Scratch that idea, they'd probably find a way to clone him. :duh: I'd take a mis-labelled Everlast over Bieber any day. Talk about mis-labelling. He's not an entertainer he's a :censored:

These "watchdog" groups are out for their own gratification, whatever that is. From my point of view it is like the driver in the fast lane of the freeway who goes the speed limit or less "for the good of all" even though there is plenty of room to pull over.

Not a good example GW... They are not in it to be a PITA, they are in it for the money. They are more like old-time pirates on the open seas, attacking ships, plundering them for the MONEY. Our government(s) not only allow this, they provide the public resources (our justice system) to enable it.

To be fair, often it results in increased public safety and less often it causes a public PITA. Sometimes serious PITA.

There is no point in complaining about it until you're prepared to make changes to take the money out of it. But everybody want's their chance in this "lottery" so we're stuck I guess. Most of the insurance we have to buy is to protect from this system. Cost of insurance (and insurance company profits) would decrease too if the lawsuit threat decreased.

I say overhaul this system of lawsuits for enrichment, it costs the consumers too much.

sorry…..back to Bieber.....
