About 13 or 14-years ago there was a huge blow out on the Hobart forum. The public was learning that Hobart was using off shore parts in their welders. But the label said made in the USA. One of the mods, who worked for Hobart admitted it was true. I think his name was Rock. Rock got fired from Hobart for admitting Hobart used off shore parts. Nothing happened to Hobart for mis-labeling machines!:confused3:

It would be better if you cited your sources instead of just saying "poking around on the internet". You obviously went to that secret site that is called Everlast and is not available to the public.

The source is a link, colored blue, in your quote of my post, directly above your comment. Google found it by searching for Everlast welder recall. Google's link took me to it. I had never read or joined the site. No secret. Available to the public.

Not a good example GW... They are not in it to be a PITA, they are in it for the money. They are more like old-time pirates on the open seas, attacking ships, plundering them for the MONEY. Our government(s) not only allow this, they provide the public resources (our justice system) to enable it.

CSA is a NON-PROFIT organization, but don't feel bad... your level of ignorance hardly excels on this board.

of course, your inference is that Everlast applying counterfeit safety certifications is no big deal.

and the $ keeps rolling in...

Just because an organization is non profit doesn't mean they can't charge a LOT of money for their service. The people doing the testing aren't volunteers. Quite the opposite. I bet they are very well paid considering they are determining what is safe and what isn't. Make no mistake though, it is a huge cash cow. There have been great products designed that never went into production because the cost of getting them certified was too prohibitive.

"Counterfeit marks are becoming a significant enough problem that the CSA has launched aggressive anti-counterfeiting initiatives to combat it.[6] Products improperly bearing certification markings may not be built to proper safety standards, and can be hazardous.[7] Because manufacturers of counterfeit products can use inferior materials or designs, and don't need to pay for product testing, products bearing counterfeit certification markings are often priced far lower than legitimately labelled products[8]"

Notice that it says "may not" and not is not. You must have also missed where it mentions paying for product testing. Putting a wrong label on was a bad decision but still doesn't mean the product is defective or faulty.

I can hardly argue your point of view (within the definition of ignorance :D)

OK back to subject of Bieber which I intend to remain ignorant.

Amen Arc, but do not try to convince Scoobydoo and Mack Davis of that common knowledge, they have their agenda to keep trying to browbeat other members on!
