I'd love to help you out... especially for the chance to see Florida... but at the rate I'm going I'm gonna have to live to 173 years old to finish all the projects I've got going... and plan to start. LOL

Yes spring has finally arrived... and the black flies just started yesterday. Such a short window of nice weather and no bugs. SIGH!

So my "Fill Wanted" signs payed off! I got a call the other day.. and operator was removing a driveway in my subdivision and wanted to get rid of two tandem loads. When I came home it looked like the first was all class A, and the 2nd was gravel, but kind of a mix, or maybe "pit run".

I got him to dump it in the Camp Ground, but this is way too good to use as fill. Here you see the two kind of gravel

I sorted the big rocks out as I went

I used the crappy gravel to fill in the driveway to the camp ground

I dumped alot of the big rock at the first hill of the trail, and covered with crappy gravel. It's much less steep then it was.

I used some of the class A to smooth out the transition from driveway to campground road

I know it may not seem trail related, but the driveway to the campground is in fact, part of the trail. Using the rest of the crappy gravel to cover rocky spots on the trail, and the rest of the class A is going on my driveway... no potholes, but low spots that I'd like to level.

Oh; discovered that my wheel barrow takes 20 square shovel fulls, so my trailer takes five wheel barrows full. :)

Nice! My back hurts just reading/seeing that.

Burned a bunch of brush and stumps yesterday, and in an attempt to clear out the campground in hopes of recieving some more fill soon, I moved all the brick today.

Loading up. (The fire's still smoldering from yesterday)

The ends of the bridge got some love

This hill is the most difficult on the trail now... mostly because it kind of dips in at the bottom... so it too got some brick

Brick in, wood out

Of course it'll all get covered with gravel. It's not much good by itself as it tends to keep shifting around. Other then that, man I wish I had five or six tandem loads of the stuff! I can load that little trailer in 1/4 the time it takes me to shovel a load of gravel.

PS; the horse flies are out and they're pissed off!

I feel your pain. I walked down to the river and swam for a little while yesterday afternoon. I had to stay submerged as much as I could. I killed 2 horse flies, and 2 yellow flies, but they left a couple of welts on me before I got them.

Yesir, I've got a couple good welts on me!

My goal for this season is to get 100 trailer loads moved. 1/2 yard/ load= 50 yards... about 3.5 tandem loads? Between gravel, rock and brick I'm at about 30... but haven't been anywhere near my 1/day average I was aiming for. Good news though! I've been put on shift for the next month, which means weekdays off & time to devote to shoveling!

Hey, who needs a gym when you've got a trailer, rock, and a shovel!? :)

You got it! Keep in somewhat decent shape, and have something to show for it when I'm done... although it seems to be producing more injuries then shrinking my waste line. LOL My daughter's got a 50cc Polaris Outlaw that she's just learning to ride on our driveway... by the time she's good enough to get on some uneven terrain the trail should be smooth enough for her.

When you see your daughter driving down that trail, you will forget all of the injuries you encountered making that trail happen! :)
