Property line trail/ track

Our PEI sandstone hardy qualifies as "rock". As much as I lament not having any "real" rock here (like to put on the driveway), I'm glad I don't have to contend with what you are facing on your trail-making venture!

Took today and tomorrow off (as they're the sunny days this week ;) ) My goal was 6 loads of gravel/ day and I got 7 in today.

Sure is nice to have a rig that fits nicely in the garage... and starts every time. LOL

Installed two sets of tool holders. Sure beats having to slow down or bounce your shovel out!

Ready to go!

Loaded to the gills!

So, some sections of the trail are raised moss/ root rolling lumps. PITA to try to shovel/ pickaxe... but would be nice to get rid off... so I came up with this;

Lowest setting (3" from the ground)

Highest (7" from the ground)

Transport

before

after

It kind of worked... but not really. Ended up bending my hitch a bit. Oh well. Live and learn. Pick axe and loppers it is I guess.

I Totally agree, tool holders look good on the trailer!

Thanks alot guys! You're right Jay... it is starting to show... I've told myself that I'd tackle the muddy spots first and they're almost done. Then I'll cover over the loose rock as it's hard to walk on... the ends of the bridge at some point... then the hollows... then eventually the entire trail. Uh! LOL

I didn't meet my goal for the day, but I did get three loads of gravel and one load of rock. Ah well. 10 loads... aprox 5 ton in two days ain't bad.

The pile doesn't seem to be getting smaller... it actually seems to be getting bigger as I keep working my way across! LOL

If you look to the left you can see where the pile edge was

Picked up a couple rocks... one

two

three

four

Ok, the trailer's not full, but I counted this as a full load! LOL Here's where it went

Pictures don't do it justice, but it is pretty off camber.

I'm thinking of going for a different look with my fourwheeler... what do you guys think? :)

Gearhead, I have been wanting to build a little one room camp with a basement on my pond land. As hard as you work, and as sandy as my soil is, I think me and you could do the digging in a couple three days. So if you ever get down to NW Florida......

I'm really enjoying the thread. Glad spring has reached you so you can get back to it.
