Not sure I'd say a rover is more capable. I can post videos of what the power wagons can do too. I guess I should have said most capable 4x4 truck made right now. Does a rover have a disconnect sway bar? What is the articulation on a rover? Does a rover come with a factory installed 12,000 lb winch? Can you put a four wheeler or a dirt bike in the back of a rover? Can you pull a gooseneck trailer with a rover? I still believe my original statement is true the most capable 4x4 from the factory.

At the end of the day, selectable locking front and rear diffs combined with their lighter weight (they are aluminum, after all) makes them a better-out-of-box 4x4 even if the door handles fall off in your hand.

The weirdest 4x4s are the support trucks participating in the Paris to Dakar
actually those werent support trucks, but race trucks. Jan de Rooij in the mid 80's won the truck class, but was 3rd overall. Very famous is the shot where Jan de Rooij with his twin Daf 1160 engined TurboTwin runs away from Ari Vatanen s Peugeot 405 T16...That was before the organisation set a speed limit for trucks of 150kmh, which was done after a teammate of Jan de Rooij was killed in a multiple rollover, after which De Rooij withdrew from the rally for more than a decade. Now his son Gerard is one of the top dogs, but now driving Iveco trucks.

Except for every Rover made. I read somewhere that the first glimpse of 40% undiscovered peoples had of westerners throughout was when a Rover drove into their valley.
Hah, over here guys complain that Landies break their axles when you put on an aftermarket locker. I dont know how well made those cars from Detroit are these days (their reputation still isnt good here in Europe) but a Toyota Landcruiser or a Merc G wagon are the most reliable offroad vehicles you can get here in Europe, and therefor their value is still extremely high. Nissan Patrol makes a good second if their engines were better, the 2.8 TD was a crackhead, the swirl chambers cracked loose from the head. Perhaps the newer 3.0 four cylinder DI is more reliable.

Look at a post a few down from this Land Rover axels break too. I didn't read that thread because frankly I have better things to do. He probably wasn't using the Power Wagon as it was intended. It is a 3/4 ton truck not meant for high speed off road. It was designed for rock crawling and low speed off roading. The lockers from the factory are designed to be used in low range only. There are ways around this however. I have a locker bypass so I can use mine in high range but use them wisely as to not abuse my truck. You still did not address all the things a power wagon can do that a land rover can not. Here are a couple quick videos I found which would you rather use in this situation? The power wagon looks like it handled this situation much easier. Notice how much better the tires stay on the ground on the Power Wagon that is due to the better articulation of the axles it has. The power wagon in the first video is 100% stock except the tires.

Are these production built factory trucks? Can I go to a dealer near by and order one tomorrow? I can go and order a Power Wagon at any Ram dealer across the states.

Lets see if either a Powerwagon or a Landie can follow this path:
