If you shop there you are helping to pay to charge someone else's car. Frankly I wouldn't shop there, they can buy their own electricity. HS

You're in denial if you think "free" battery car charging is free. It's energy from big power plants, powered by coal or whatever, that citizens are pay for, both economically, and pollution-wise

I'm thinking there is a middle ground... at least in some respects.
Solar roof tops are popping up everywhere around here...
The local community college just put in a bunch and offers "Free" charging with paid parking.
County Jail did the entire Detention Facility with solar and has charging stations.
The argument can always be made nothing is free if this is the reasoning... I guess it's not free.
One day a month... the local museums have a Free Afternoon... it's free to those that visit during that time.

We've got some of those charging stations and you can use them if you have a valid credit card. Don't know what the charge for a charge is.

We get too much snow and frequent snow storms here for battery cars. Being a rural area, streets are not yet plowed on many mornings after a night storm.
A battery car would have it's limited range stifled to about nil trying to power through snow and slush covered roads, not to mention coming up with some extra energy for cabin heat, which is a free byproduct of ICE cars. Imagine watching your 50 mile range limit drop to 25 as you drive through snow, only to be stuck with no juice on the side of a dangerous snow banked road as a plow just misses you. Real safe situation there...

Electrics may only be suited for fair weather in mild climates... still leaves a lot of territory open.
