who makes rural king's 15w40 oil? it's way cheaper than even walmart...

Agrisupply is the best one i have been too but there only a handfull of stores across the country. Its the size of about the old walmarts and kmarts before they had the grocery and such in them. they have sweeps, plow parts bearings, tubes , tires, all kinds of oils including the house brand or warren for a decent price and have tons of other stuff. Must be similar to a rural king or other store? Its like a TSC on steroids to me. It has a huge yard out back with all the 3pt stuff, hay rings water troughs, trailers, deer stands, etc etc. The yard is maybe 3 acres maybe 4? There is one in Statesboro GA that i go through when i go that way, there is also one in sc that i have never been to as i am not in that part of the state ever!

Same here. For some reason northern New England is the last place the chains seem to go, not sure why. We have Agway, but they seem more interested in carrying dog toys than anything useful. TSC is about our only choice too.

I feel for you guys. I would have a hard time surviving without Rural King and Menards.

we used to have another store. may have been farm and co.. or someone else, can't remember. was near 20ys ago.

Farm And Fleet? We used to have those around here and they had a lot of great stuff at a good price.

There is a Menards in my travels but I've never been in. Do they have ag stuff and farm parts?

Menards is mostly building supplies & lawn & garden supplies, but do have items that Lowe's & Home Depot don't seem to have on the shelf.

Great thing about the three above mentioned, they all have websites, and you can do price comparison's online, at your local stores.

An update to my using this oil. I love it..!! I've been using it it all of my vehicles for almost 2 years now, except the Dodge Cummins which is on Amsoil. I've got a '96 Z-71 that just turned 256K. Switched to the 15/40 in it when it had approx. 230K on it. When using Rotella, and/or Castrol 15/40, it would consume about 1-1/2 qts between 3K changes. Considering the milage, I didn't kick much on that. Since using the RK 15/40, and just now due for an oil change it has again only consumed a 1/2 qt. Usage dropped after the second oil change.

Whether it has to do with additives to liven the seals, or just cleaned things up to re-seal rings, I'm not sure. All I know is, the proof is in the pudding.

Since crude prices have dropped in recent months, so has this oil. They run it on sale for $12.99 for the 2 gallon jug here it seems, every other sale flyer. I keep 8 jugs in the oil cabinet at about any time, so as to change, and not have to run to town to get oil. Per gallon, it can be bought cheaper in 5 gallon pails, but happy with the convenience of the 2 gallon jug.
