Confronting another tresspasser. Step 1 went ok

For clarification:
.....Those neighbors both asked me to let them know what I saw when they were at work. This isn't about our own interests other than keeping promises made.

....... btw: Neither current owner or their listing agents are aware of the recent use and track-making, lawful or otherwise.

I dislike tresspassers as much as the next guy, but it doesn't read like you are keeping any promises.

First, I apologize to a fellow member I won't name for revisiting this thread after saying I was done with it. For the rest I'll do my best to abandon the sarcasm.

Price of the vacant 20 is a bit high for my taste if not my wallet, or I'd have bought all or half of the vacant 20 long ago. Meanwhile, I've made no promises, only assisted those who have while they're on the job, sometimes 7 days/week.

I did step onto land where I am permitted by the one owner vs either 'agent'. Whatever 'authority' I'm presumed to have asserted is IMO tantamount to seeing a kid in a grocery store tuck a can of Monster into his jacket and saying to him that loss-prevention wouldn't like it. Some may see that also as going too far. Others might not. :confused3:

I took no physical action, did nothing to impede entry/exit, didn't threaten to call either owner. Never my place or promise to do any of those. The lad on the bike apologized politely when I spoke to him and left abruptly. Why I posted the story was the laugh we got that the irate father went totally off, cussin' a blue steak & waving his finger at the 5' 1" gal he told to relay his message instead of coming a bit farther down our shared driveway and giving me both barrels in person.

Once again, I apologize for a poor presentation that could have been better understood w/o my arcane attempt to relate without the names.
I accept your apology and I hope your next thread is more interesting than this one, or at least more worthy of the time it takes to interpret.

So my question is, have the trespassers stopped?

For what it's worth, I wouldn't mind having you for a neighbor:D

Sounds like your handling everything pretty good. Just watch out for the whacko's.

Bygones, RB & all. Didn't mean to muddle the message. I haven't really felt insulted or had my feelings hurt yet, and I mean that too.

If the guys come back I'm sure the 'official' overseers will consider making phone calls as they see fit.

You guys are a great bunch of teachers, to the last man. I'll be working on my communicating skills out of respect and appreciation for what I've learned from y'all. Thanks for putting up with my fumbling while I try to get a grip. Meanwhile, expect me to limit posts I start to my usual naive questions. Cheers. tog :)

I agree with this Sig, People used to watch out for their neighbors.

TOG, wow....enjoyed your post, including follow on commentary. I learned that trespassing where you are is common and impossible to stop/control. Sad to hear that. In Texas it happens but LEO's respond...problem is that time passes between the report and their arrival. I once, sadly, discovered how to improve their response time. I found a body (dead) on my property and dialed 911. Soon had 18 vehicles parked all over the place...police, ambulance, sheriff, everybody wanted to see the situation.

A possible idea...next time you see trespassers maybe report them in a manner which leaves it ambiguous as to the amount of life in the body you see on the neighbor's land...I mean, you are concerned...these kids are riding around, then you don't see them any more, maybe they fell off and are unable to report their situation...could happen...

TOG, I do note that you use punctuation and spelling, even caps. Such a deal...not always found in TBN posts.

What makes reading difficult, IMHO, is when people can't find the correct Homonyms and Homophones, a malady you do not seem to suffer.

Sounds like the Old Grind is sticking his nose where it doesn't belong given he isn't the land owner. Beyond that, anything else is a mute point.
