Confronting another tresspasser. Step 1 went ok

Some people complaining must not speak redneck or country hick, either of which would help. lol

sorry about the bikers, at one time we did similar (mostly without tearing up crops or property) but often rode bikes on utility/RR ROWs & hunted on them a lot. Was confronted once or twice but not due to damages... Ended up getting some summer jobs that way working on farms.

Just for the record, I understood the original post.

Almost always, people will assume the entitlement of protecting adjacent property, usually in ways that they can benefit from it. Pretty sure in the same situation I'd to the same. Kids (big and little) should realize that loud exhaust can be their worst enemy. BLATTTT! and the girls look your way:laughing: - that's human nature for a young fella. I remember when I enjoyed loud exhaust too :D but you can't blame the people who enjoy peace & quiet in their own home.

Just so you know, as I also live in mid Michigan and have some experience with this subject, the State Police told me directly (as did the 911 operator), that only the registered landowner can file or make a claim about trespassing. No letters of authority, or acting on behalf of, or any relatives, etc. If your name is on the deed, you can report or flie or charge, if its not YOUR property, keep your mouth closed and don't waste your time.

My thoughts exactly.

Anything "happens" and BOTH parties would most likely share the blame.

What type of veggies did you carry to the seniors there? Will they be cooking them or canning them or both?
How many seniors are at the center and what is their condition? Is it far from your house? Did you grow the vegetables yourself?

For clarification:

There are two adjacent, fronted 20s across our road being ridden on as if one, two currently absent owners (neither are very friendly to each other), and two on our side (of the road) who have arranged separately with each owner to watch over these tracts since before my time here.

Those neighbors both asked me to let them know what I saw when they were at work. This isn't about our own interests other than keeping promises made. Both owners can be unpleasant, and we don't want to p__ 'em off or hear any rants like the guy who went off on one gal already. (we're gentle folk)

Three ladies among our cabal of five families have objected to the racket that wakes their little ones, tho' this isn't about noise. Their men have expressed concern on behalf of the landowners as always, and as a close-knit group we on the North side have all respected each one's wishes to keep out otherwise.

'We' have been allowed to hunt/trap only one 20 but not to cut wood, trim trees for stands, or make any new trails. As only occasional guests ourselves, we have little to lose if those few privileges are curtailed by new owners and prior arrangements ended one by one.

btw: Neither current owner or their listing agents are aware of the recent use and track-making, lawful or otherwise. Prospective buyers may not approve of our or anyone's such use, and they will hopefully tend to their lands themselves.

If I were to have someone watch over a remote property I'd appreciate them letting me know if survey markers and keep out signs were molested or removed. I wonder how many nit-pickers here who are practically defending unauthorized use of lands would welcome someone helping themselves to a portion of their own within a hundred feet or so of their bedroom window without asking them, or as in our case approved conservators.

Judge us if you will, but know that we stick together and keep our promises to each other. :)

(TBN's old trolls can surely find other places to tout their impaired reading comprehension and create diversion for the sake of their own entertainment.) ;)

I'd have no problem watching out and informing a neighbor if anyone is on their property and give them all the information I could, however, if someone is on my neighbor's property and I go on said property to confront any trespassers (on the land), I'm just creating a legal mess for myself "if anything should happen".

I have as much right as being on my neighbors property as the trespasser does.

Now, if someone is breaking and entering into my neighbor's home, I believe that could be a different story LOL

When you read enough of these trespassing/bad neighbor threads, they all seem to have main points in common:

1. "A guy crossed my land, urinated on my blueberry bushes/stole my lawn mower/drove a four wheeler over my crops..etc. I called the cops and the cops wouldn't do anything"

2. Half the people say "Shoot em!" or "if it were me, Id shoot them" or "thats why I always carry guns with me where ever I go" The other half of the people say "Don't shoot them you'll get in trouble!" or "People who carry guns everywhere are misguided" At which point the 2nd ammendment argument starts.

3. Someone suggests a clever way to make a booby trap for the tresspassers out of scrap building materials, half the people agree, and half the people talk about how much trouble you can get in for that.

4. And no trespassing/bad neighbor story thread is complete without someone throwing in "remember mdbarb!"

All things considered, I still find them entertaining.

Don't forget about that they had sex with your daughter in law there as well
