SSQA snowplow mount

So here's another important question to throw out there, how fast does everyone go with FEL mounted plows? I can't see slow plowing damaging arms very easily, but as mentioned earlier you cannot throw snow without going fast. So who is the biggest daredevil with their FEL plow?

So far there have been 235 views on this topic asking if anyone has damaged their loader arms with a snow plow mounted on them. No-one has yet. That has to mean something.
I don't believe Kioti recommends putting chains on all four tires. When plowing, what end tends to swing sideways, the front or rear? I take it that front chains prevent front swinging.

T

on my DK45 i contacted Kioti directly and asked about front chains. they told me there is no problem on the DK series. not sure how that relates to the CK series

I've never plowed with a tractor snowplow setup so excuse my ignorance. With a plow on the loader arms does the tractor front or tractor rear have more of a tendency to "swing out" due to the longer lever vs. a frame mount?

Yes the rear will want to go side ways. The way to prevent it from happening is to keep the plow up off the ground a little which is hard to do at a decent speed on uneven ground. Also with the loader in float the front will get light at times and you loose some steering control. A loader mounted plow does not work good on gravel unless you get a hard freeze. You have the weight of the loader and plow riding on the ski shoes and they will dig in. A plow that floats at the quick attach would be the best type of loader mounted plow to have and address most of the issues I mention.

I run with the pedal on the floor in medium range.

I've ran a FEL mounted snow plow on our JD 4100 HST since 1999. Never once had a problem. Either static or using the float.
One thing I think that helps a lot. Is the blade was off another JD and it came from the factory with a tilt feature that was spring loaded.
Should I hit anything it flips down. Something I did discover by sure accident that is handy with this feature. I was leveling dirt our.
Had the FEL raised a bit, so the blade was angle forward more. I had forgot to lock it into static mode. Well it flipped down as soon as I applied forward movement. but it did not dig in. In fact it acted like a Sanding Block. smooth over fast with undo tearing in of the ground. I'll try to get pics of this tomorrow
