Hey Jesse -

Nice new ride!
I've been debating for the last several months regarding keeping & bulletproofing my 06 F350 dually, or sell it and possibly get one of these. I've got 92K on mine, never had any problems and towed some heavy loads. A bit concerned about the 4:30 gearing, kicks up the towing capacity but hurts the mpg.
I've seen some other threads on here where guys are recently paying good money for used 3/4 and 1 ton trucks....guess I need to look at a depreciation matrix and make a decision.
Q; when did the second generation come out....2013?
And, rough estimates on mpg?

thanks!

Frank

Diesel trucks are drawing a premium, but just a heads up, MANY folks are leery of the Ford 6.0 diesel, even though yours may have been trouble free. This hurts Fords with that engine, in the resale market value.

Thanks for sharing the additional photos. Looks like a pretty solid truck looking at the underside. I like the genuine imitation woodgrain. I am joking when I say that. My wife had a 2005 300C that had fake woodgrain. Her new car is a 2011 300C and the woodgrain on the inside is real. I can't tell the difference. The interior looks very roomy front and back and looks very comfy.

Never been much of a Ford fan but have been looking at the 450's a lot more lately. Saw one at work and loved they way it stands out. Nice rig.

I'm getting the bed liner sprayed in tomorrow. The truck equipment dealer I use has done four trucks for me, counting this one. They use the XTreme liner. Not a lot of choice around here, but I've had good luck with it. These people do good work. Takes 3-4 hours by the time they scuff the paint and mask off the truck, also remove all hardware before spraying. One shop uses TOFF, I'm not familiar with them so I googled it and decided to stay with the XTreme liner. I've used Linex at least once, good material but no one close uses it.

Any reason didn't you get the factory spray in liner? I've not heard of any issues with them and my new F-350 looks better than the Line-X I had done on the previous truck.

Do you have any pics of the engine compartment? I'm interested in a 350 or a 450 but I'm worried that routine maintenance will be more irritating than what I'm used to if it's crammed tight. The slanted radiators on my MY12 6.2 gas 250 is irritating me that it traps leaves and large bugs that plug it because they won't fall through.

I've got LineX in my truck and it's held up well. Any plans for coating underneath? I did the Ziebart diamond platinum package (something like that) and it was a great sealant and rust preventative. They also did inside the door jambs, sills etc. everywhere rust can accumulate.

I'm assuming that's a gooseneck package or prep in the bed? Was that a factory option or dealer installed?

****** Jesse I just told myself my 10 was still in great shape and I didn't need a new truck, now I can almost smell that new smell. I have the itch bad now! Beautiful truck love that paint scheme.
