B Series trailer pulling capabilities????

I have the B7610 also. Mine can easily move the equipment trailer around, but when I go down my driveway to stow it, I put it in low, and 4wd. I have a lot more control then, but the moving speed is slow. That is ok with me as I don't need to be pulling the trailer out of the ditch.

B7610, seems simliar to my b2620 in terms of power and weight. We pull hay wagons (about 6,000lbs total) around our property no problem... Just gotta be smart about it.. I keep it in Low, 2400rpm and 4WD (spin in the sand with 2WD) starting and stopping are not an issue, i was surprised but the HST can stop the tractor and wagon with no problem. but you can tell the tractor is a bit light (only 1500lbs or so) so i just kept it slow and avoided any terrain that would make the wagon want to roll.

I know it's a little different since there's no weight on the tractor cause the hay wagons are different... but power and braking i dont think will be an issue for you


(kubota manual says only tow 1.5x tractor weight, but i like to live dangerously)

Thanks for the thoughts fellas.............I had to take my trailer hitch ball, 2 5/16", to a machine shop to turn down the shank to 3/4". That is the size of the holes in the draw bar that I am gonna use in the 3ph. A 3/4" shank is NOT available due I guess to safety issues. As this outfit will NEVER be used on the highway it should not be a problem.

I am wondering about you guys that are doing this type of thing....ie: prevent, are you hooking up the trailer to the drawbar of the tractor or using something like I am using in the 3ph?????..................For me, I want to be able to make sharp turns that the tires of the tractor will not allow due to the trailer tongue. Pulling from the 3ph puts the load back there where I can make those turns. Yes, not to sharp as binding/jack knifing will happen...........

If you do use the 3ph..........how do you keep the drawbar from revolving???????........I am using a top link for the 3ph from one of the holes in the 3ph draw bar and connecting it to the drawbar of the tractor.........Yes, the pivots of the top link will move a bit; but I am hoping that this will allow some flexibility in the height of the 3ph............thoughts???????.........thanks again Guys..........God bless......Dennis

Since you have already modified the ball you probably want to stick with the lift arm drawbar. You can prevent it from rotating by "keying" it to one of the lift arms. There are devices sold to do this, but you could do it yourself by bolting metal plates to top and bottom of the bar thru its outermost hole. The plates would extend out over and capture the lift arm. Dont go light on the bolt used ... or the plates.

One of those was about the first thing I bought. Works well on both tractors. I also bought a clamp-on-trailer-bucket-hitch which works for both tractors

WOWOWOW.........That is one neat piece of equipment......Gonna see how what I am doing works and if it fails will for sure get this gizmo.......I need to get the trailer moved like NOW but surely NOT gonna tear up my 88 Airstream just by going cheap......Either way, this device is going to be in my budget next month to have on hand.........THANKS......God bless........Dennis

I welded up something similar. I also made it so that I can mount a scarifier tooth from my box blade and use it to cut a narrow trench like for wire or water lines.

Yep the 3 point Bumperm mentioned is the way to go. I use mine ALL the time moving everything from small tractor dump trailers up to large eqpt trailers. It is one of my most used attachments and worth the money!

1350lb tractor for 5500lb trailer, 8' rise on 50' (that close to a 10 degree slope). Yessch. Give it a try but maybe have a plan B?
Like trailer brakes or somebody quick with a block to throw in front of a tire?
