Well I would consider a home owner class saw is that it is designed of occasional and light uses. Isn't that the way they market it.... Home owner, farmer and pro. What you choose to uses and buy is your personal choice and what your expected use is, I'm a carpenter Makita make home owner products and what would be professional products. Planes, circ saws etc are dangerous, it's as I said it's about technic. I wouldn't consider suggesting that a non trained and qualified person shouldn't use or own a professional class circ saw. I have to respectfuly disagree in your opinion that only pros should use pro saws. For me it is about what I'm cutting and how much im cutting. I think things can get dangerous when you don't match the tool to the job. Not sure where you are getting at with the pilot comment....

I'm just a peasant that uses professionally ported pro saws. I hope I don't break a fingernail since pro saws are so dangerous let alone a ported one :D

The 441 is a kick *** saw, the only reason why I didn't go for it as I wanted to do some milling. I suspect ported would really Rock. Its a shame the EPA rules over there constrict the Stihl's. Why isnt Husky required to abide by the same emissions code? Like I've said before, we don't have the constricted saws here.
Great line up you have there... Congrats.
By the way I have tractors too..... Whoops

If you're a nOOb at any task, and think you'll likely have to do it more than a few times, why waste your money on a throw away tool?

Spend your money once, and get a quality tool, you'll be glad you did, or buy twice..

Its been my rule of thumb since I was 20 or until I could afford quality..

Live and learn.

Earlier someone said that husky hadn't given in to the environmental police. Well, I think he spelled police wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what he meant.

Anyway, that's total BS. Husqvarna has to follow the rules just like everyone else.

Thank you. I got a great deal on the 441 from a shrimp that couldn't handle it.

A passenger on a plane does not make them qualified to fly the plane. Any idiot can get hold of ported chainsaws for a price. There is evidence of that in this thread currently. Pro saws are meant for use by pros. Period. Homeowner/farmer/pro are the standard designations of level of use/experience for most chainsaws. Yes people can be hurt operating circ saws too. Sarcasm changes nothing in relation to the safety issues raised by the use of pro grade saws in the hands of amateurs, especially when it comes to arborist specific top handle saws.
Tough guys need to brag about how tough they are and avoid or mock any discussion of risks associated with what they choose to do. But chainsaws don't give a rat's asz about any of that; they do what they are meant to do: cut. If it's a homeowner in over his head with the wrong saw and method of cutting, or an experienced woodsman, the saw doesn't care- it will cut either, and both will bleed. They're would not be chain brakes, low kickback chain and other safety devices on chainsaws if there were no need for them. BTW, tractors kill farmers, homeowners and ranchers as indiscriminately as chainsaws maim those using them. Tractors now have ROPS, seatbelts, seat kill switches, etc. to protect the user. Disable then, fold them down, etc. at your own personal risk. But don't complain if after doing so you get hurt.

Me too! One and done. I have always bought the best because I hoard and guard them. When others enter the picture is when things go missing. But it has always been much more enjoyable to use quality tools and equipment.

The one that resorts to name calling loses the argument.

Son, do you know my experience or expertise? I suggest you take your big rig Kioti and ride off into the sunset on your back 5 acres :D
