Anyone look at Bailey's hydraulic motors?looking at Chief 272232. 150 rpm's with 3850 torque. 1" od shaft. $167.00. What does 23.60 CID mean?I have a Kabota L 3200. Does anyone know if that would work? Sorry I don't have a link to the motor.

That is not a wheel motor. I'm not near enough of an expert to tell you if it would hold up, but I can say its not the same. For the money, I'm going to aim for getting a wheel motor for sure unless someone with experience says otherwise will function the same.

As for the specs, the PSI rating is about half of what your tractor puts out so I don't believe thats going to be a good match for you. Your going to over pressurize it. And since its rated for such a low pressure, and listed as a light to medium duty motor, I'm going to guess that the torque rating is inch pounds, not foot pounds. That puts it at 320 foot pounds. Again, I'm no expert, but the motor I'm looking at over at Surplus for $299 is double that, and even higher intermittently. Seems that 320 might be a little weak, but I'm not sure. And since its not a wheel motor, I doubt its designed to hold any sort of load, axial or otherwise. So you would likely push the shaft right out of the housing.

Just my uneducated guess...

Cubic Inch Displacement

That's a big motor and you will need something that big to go direct-drive. Then you will have
the axial load problem mentioned above.

The approach I used is to go with a much smaller conventional motor of about 7 ci, and a 3.18:1
gear reduction box. Mounted at right angle, this also gives me more clearance in terms of loader
or backhoe or 3-pt height. And no axial loads to the motor. And no fancy taper-shaft adapter.

I modeled my DIY unit after the Worksaver 714H unit, the least expensive hyd PHD I am aware of.
The gearbox is from Agrisupply, and the motor I used is a White 500-series.

I bought and mounted 2 of the 714Hs to my backhoes, before I made this one. The Worksaver
unit costs about $1700, and the 48" HD augers start at about $250-300 each. My DIY unit
is not going to be used, so it is for sale locally for $1200 including 2 Worksaver augers.
