I really don't have anything to offer, Garycw. Just checking in and wishing you the best. I'm glad you have someone looking after you.

Perhaps the 5 sec (or so) cycle was the off-side wheel that Gary probably could not see under the circumstances spinning/slipping and then getting traction again? Can we assume that the differential was NOT locked?

Thanks Big Barn.
JR the tractor has a diff lock, but it was not locked.
I remember everytime I thought it had stopped, it would lurch forward again. As bad as it was, I'm glad it didn't stop, especially after it got on my left hip & part of turned right leg. I would have been pinned under and unable to get my phone out of pants pocket. I could have layed there for a couple days or longer before anyone became suspicious of my disappearance. If it had hitting on my upper body or head I don't believe I'd be here either.

As soon as I got shifter into neutral, starter disengaged, but soleniod did not. It just went into a high pitch spinning whine until a hit it with a wrench again..

To be clear, are you saying

1. the tractor ran over you going forward when you we're in front of the rear wheel sitting on the 5 gal bucket after the wrench first hit the starter
2. After it ran over you, you got up and shifted it out of neutral and used your wrench on the starter again
3. You then shifted it into reverse, got behind the rear wheel this time and it ran over you again going backwards

NO... It just ran over me once. As soon as it lurched forward it knocked me off the bucket. Both legs were bent at knee with feet to rear. After it cleared me, I pulled myself up with arms. I had no feeling in either leg, but could tell left leg was no longer attached.
I grabbed shifter and pulled out of gear. It momentarily went into reverse a second, but I got it in neutral before it came back over me. While I was sure it was DIFFINETLY in neutral I picked wrench up and tapped soleniod again to disengage. At that point I was about ready to pass out and called 911 and laid there 38 minutes till first volunteer Fire fighter arrived. EMT arrived about 10 min later. This is way out in the country.

Its good to hear that you are getting around some. Hopefully you can keep at it and start to see improvements. Just a thought I had is that healing can sometimes creep in on you slowly so that you don't notice it. So it might be a good idea to keep a running record of how much you are able to do each day, that way you'll be able to look back and see the improvement even if your not necessarily feeling it. It may help to avoid the frustration of time.

And besides starter safety, maybe you could learn us a little more: what is dvr?

Okay, thank you for clarifying. This (from the other thread) is what confused me:

"Once cleared I pulled myself up by hands to knock out if gear. It inedible went into reverse for round two"

I now understand you got it in neutral BEFORE "round two". Thank you
