Well I found there wasn't a lot of negotiating in my area but it didn't stop me from coming home with a new Mule FXT. I had been set on a Ranger Crew from months but the more I dug into what I really wanted in a UTV and what many of the techs had to say about what they see in the shop, the Mule seemed to be the clear winner. So far I love it. Lots of room and power. Rides amazing. Pulled a 16' trailer with REA poles on it last weekend with no issues. Hope it continues to impress me. So far I only have 40 miles on it and thanks to Code54 I got the new top installed (thanks for the pictures).

Oddly enough, the same day I took the mule home to my folks place for deer season preparation, my brother towed a new Ranger 900 XP with complete cab home for my dad. It wasn't the crew model was fun to compare how different they were and the positives for each model. That Polaris thing has some get up and go but unfortunately there is some grinding noise in the front end. Hopefully the dealer will address it without issue.

I have a dual gun rack, rear view mirror on order. I am also building my own glass windshield in the coming week that should come in under half what they want for a factory one.

That is CORRECT! Good ole Sandhills. I graduated from LCHS.

EDIT- I didn't see the word "our" in your post. So for clarification its not your land in loup county. :) Well unless you are my father....

By our I meant My fathers land in Loup County. Do you know who Allen Peterson is? He farms our farmable ground there.

Very nice! Yeah there doesn't seem to be a lot of wiggle room on price of UTV's. I got $1000 off on my Ranger 570 and that was the best I'd seen. I guess they know if you won't buy it someone else will.

I do. Not well as it has been 20 years since i actually live there but go back often. My father in law farms in Custer and Loup county as well.

Do keep us posted, that Mule looks like a very functional UTV. With only 6 acres I think I'll keep my narrower Rhino, but if I'm ever again in the market the PRO FXT is going to get serious consideration.

Have to agree with he others on how impressive the new Mule is. I had it for a bit over a month now and could not be more pleased. I have personally owned 2 Rhinos (660 and the 700), a RZR4, Mule 500, and now the FXT Pro with a lot of time on many other makes and models that were not mine and I feel the Mule is the most refined. It is not a speed demon like the RZR, or able to slink between trees like a Pioneer 500 but it sure hauls things better! The short wheel base and tight steering does help a lot in the woods and I have been pleasantly surprised on where I can take it. If your trails are real tight the Mule is defiantly not the right machine but it you can run a normal Terex, Pioneer, etc on them without a problem you maybe pleasantly surprised with the mule. It looks wider than a semi but it turned out to be 2" wider than my RZR at the widest point and only 4" wider than my buddies Pioneer 700-4.

In our area I was able to get them to ditch the factory shipping charges and come down another $1100 on an LE's price at two different dealers. Another one was MSRP and the shipping, PERIOD - would not even discuss a "discount". needless to say his is still sitting in the dealership.

Here are a couple pictures of the windshield I built for the Mule. Still have some tweaking to do for the fit but I have had it on for a week and been very pleased with the results.
