I really only have trouble with one of my implements, the 96" box blade. It's not that hooking it up is a problem, it's taking the stupid thing off.

The pins have no head on them and sometimes require a pipe wrench to turn them to remove the linch pin.
------------------------
Weld something onto the pin so you can turn it.

Or get a short 1 1/8 diameter cat 2 pin.

I would have replaced those headless pins immediately with a hitch pin of the right size, with a handle.

I would but look at the first pic again. These have a shoulder or step down. Where the lift arm connects is larger than the end the linch pin goes on. It is a very silly design IMO.

I would have replaced those headless pins immediately with a hitch pin of the right size, with a handle. They come in many sizes. For example: GRAINGER APPROVED VENDOR Hitch Pin,Std,Stl,Zinc,1x7 3'/'4 L - Hitch Pins - 3HLR5'|'3HLR5 - Grainger Industrial Supply Bruce

Bruce, those are CAT 1 / CAT 2 pins with two different diameters. Have the same on my Bush Hog 3008 cutter.

If you raise or lower 3 point just slightly you can get pressure off of the pin and it will rotate and can be easily removed. Repeat on other side. Takes a minute or two at most.

Yes I need to weld something on the end. It's one of those things you don't think about when you have time to do it.

Btw... This is a Bushhog brand, made by Dirtdog, and unless they have changed the design I would never buy another.

The design is so it can be pulled by a cat 1 or cat 2 tractor.

This is the pin that does it.

Like I said it is silly. Show me a cat1 machine capable of really using a 96" box blade.

How about a single diameter hitch pin with a hitch pin bushing on it-loose or welded?

Or a short, single diameter Cat 2 pin that only goes through the section you use? Put the lock pin where the Cat 1 section is.

That still does not solve the problem if you are trying to just lower the 3 point to the ground a beat the **** out of the pins with a sledge hammer.

If you adjust 3 point height to get pressure off of the pins, they come out easily.

Here is my 60" wide, cat1 Toolcat with a 96" box blade.

On the box blade only the outside hole is larger, the two inner holes are smaller.

I honestly did not think about small pin with a welded bushing. I'll look at that tomorrow!
