Good stuff. Congrats to Chevy.

As to your last statement I'm sure the Ford folks will simply claim the whole thing was rigged and biased against Ford since they didn't win. That was the common theme on the last thread like this.

Can't wait to see the Colorado with a 4 cylinder diesel next year. That might be a great combination.

What is the competition? The outdated Frontier or Tacoma....

Well, where is the Ranger and/or Dakota????? Being a Tundra owner, I know where the Tacoma is

The article doesn't say what the competition is, probably the actual magazine does. They are suppose to be a new design or major change to be considered. For example the Ram won the last two years even though the second year the only change was the eco-diesel. When you look at new designs or major upgrades to trucks, the competion tends to be pretty slim.

Not their fault Ford doesn't make the Ranger anymore. I'm glad to see at last a few companies realize the need for a smaller pickup. They are really useful for many folks.

Must be really frustrating for Ford to have this supposedly great ecoboost engine and aluminum body panels and the Dodge Eco deisel and GM Colorado are stealing all their thunder winning awards and contests.

Saw the GMC version at a dealer last week. Very nice.

Actually, I saw a news story about this while waiting at the dealer having my car serviced this morning (ABC news, I think). Basically said that the selection is biased towards stuff consumers can react to, and not many consumers will react to an aluminum body (their words, not mine). Actually, here's a quote from the Motor Trend editor on CNN "The Ford F-150 didn't win because, although its all-aluminum construction is revolutionary, that didn't translate to improvements that customers would notice, Loh said. The truck is quicker and gets slightly better fuel economy than other trucks, he said, but the gains aren't huge." I'd weight those engineering features more strongly myself, but I am an engineer and we don't think like normal people.

I haven't seen a 2015 F-150 in person yet, but based on what I saw of the GMC Canyon last week, I suspect these trucks will be the media darlings just because there is more of an "all new model" vibe to them.

These trucks are not small by any means. They are the size of the late 80's, early 90's 1/2 ton trucks. They have all gotten bigger.

Just compared my 2006 F350 to the 2015. No comparison. The GCWR and tow ratings have nearly doubled. Look at what we are doing with 1/2 tons now. I would been worried putting the loads behind my 2003 3/4 ton gas truck that I have no concerns with behind my 2012 Ecoboost.

Trucks keep getting bigger and better.
